Is one mirrorless body safe?
In 20 years and 1100+ weddings, I needed my backup one time. - when my Sony A7iii shutter went out at 579,000 count during the entrance of a bride at the ceremony. Was it worth carrying a second for 20 years just to have this happen to me one time? HELL YES.

The Milky Way arch at Passo Giau, Dolomites
The Milky Way arch at Passo Giau was one of the most challenging arches I’ve ever captured due to the intense light pollution and high humidity. After a spectacular sunset, we were enveloped in mist during the blue hour, but we were fortunate to have a clear night. I had the lens heater on at maximu

Nikon d810 in 2025?!
DSLRs are still widely used by event and sports photographers because of their battery life and durability. The D810 can easily smash the A7 III to pieces without breaking a sweat in a cage match and then go for another 3 rounds. It's a fanstatic work horse camera, tho I'd spend a bit more to find o

Buying a used camera
I saw your post on another subreddit just now about choosing a camera. I’d recommend the sony a7 iii from tori.fi. Try to find one with low shotter count. It’s the best value sony camera in my opinion and passes for professional work. It’s also a very popular model so if you decide to quit photograp

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?
I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

Thinking of joining the X-E5 club, but the "lug issue" has me genuinely paranoid...
Dude you don’t need to worry about the screen. Maybe the X-E5 of the person you replied to does have a flimsy screen—I don’t want to dismiss their experience—but the screen on mine is solid; actually too solid for my taste. Compared to my 8-year-old Sony A7 III’s screen with a similar tilt mechanism

Before / After in The Netherlands
Hey u/jonathlan! Absolutely! I used my Sony A7III, have been using it since 2018, still reliable and still learning many things! For extra info, I used a sigma 35mm f1.4. Mind you, I bracketed the shot since I was shooting relatively directly towards the light (even if it was a sunset and not midday

Lens recommendations?
Tamron 35-150mm f2.0-2.8 by far and there isn't even a close second, in my mind. It's as versatile as an all-in-one can possibly be. Perfect for weddings and portraits. Strengths: Very sharp (on my A7RV), fast autofocus (until you're in very dark conditions), 35 to 150 is a crazy range, fast apertur

Good buy for first camera?
That seems like a scam lmao be careful. The a7 iii is still used by many wedding photographers, you can use it professional, yes it's a great beginner cam.
