APS-C for macro?

I'll start this off by clarifying I only have experience with Sony & Olympus / OM systems. I've tried to use the Sony A6700 and the Sony 90mm for handheld insect macro photography and eventually gave up. The sensor readout time and buffer were too slow for my style of photography. I ended up going w

Can Sony Ever Feel Like Fuji?

I was debating between the Sony a6700 and Fuji X-e5 for months, that's why I followed this sub. I noticed a difference in photos being shared on reddit and facebook groups by people using those cameras. I don't know why but the photos shared by Fuji users are more interesting and more relatable. I t

Sony A6700 + Sigma 17-40mm + 70-350mm contre Sony A7C II + Sigma 28-70mm

You will need APSC lens that is 1.5x sharper in lp/mm to produce an image with the same overall sharpness (in lp/ph) as an FF setup. This is not likely the case, and thus FF setup often produce sharper image. Here's some of the sharpest Fuji APSC primes compared to FF. XF16mmF2.8 R WR (63 lp/mm cent

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

I currently shoot an A6700. I previously shot m43 for 10 years, with these cameras: EM5 mark1, EM5 mark2, EM1 mark2, Lumix GX9. With regard to sizes, it's not as straightforward as you might think. APSC has really caught up in compact lenses. But the absolute smallest ones like 14mm f2.5, 15mm f1.7,

Beginner looking for camera recs (simple, portable, $2.5k budget)

Don't believe me? Whoever downvoted me, this angry Blackbird judges you! Sony A6700 + Sony 100-400 + 2xTC800mm f/11, 1/250s, ISO 1250 I'm usually not using that combo (mostly using the 1.4xTC instead) because the sharpness is VERY unreliable (this is one of the better shots). I don't know what the p

Hello ZV E10, E10 Mark II Users. If we crank up the ISO to max, can we capture a video like this? I know. Not photo using Long Exposure. But a video. Is it possible?

Yeah nice video! (Have shot the Milky Way in video myself many times..) In that particular Instagram video they also used the Sony a7siii. Sorry to tell you, but the a6700 won't do that either (is comparable to the ZV-E10 image quality/sensitivity.) You really need any of those bodies I mentioned to

Why are EVFs so bad?

(...) there's room for both. (...) I completely agree. I'm only stating my personal preference. It's perfectly understandable that many people prefer MILCs, not least because of the fantastic capabilities of object-based autofocus modes. I kind of disagree about the detail difference in frame (...)

Two lens I wishes for m43 from Sigma

I've got the 10-20mm f4 for Sony, it's the smallest UWA zoom for any system and G level sharpness. Great lens for landscapes. Unfortunately the A6700 is such a chunky body to pair with it.

Sony A6700 + Sigma 17-40mm + 70-350mm contre Sony A7C II + Sigma 28-70mm

Thank you very much for this very detailed reply, while also being full of interesting information. Everything you say is true and worth taking into consideration. The only thing I still can’t explain is this sharpness difference. Today, I had the opportunity to try a Sony Zeiss FE 55mm f/1.8 on the
