HDR Lunar

I took this photo with a Sony a6400 and the skywatcher evostar 72ed telescope. I have put together two photos, one of 1 second exposure at ISO 1600 and another of 1/80 s at ISO 100, and with some touch-ups in Lightroom. It is my first attempt at lunar HDR and I still have things to improve. I accept

Andromeda (M31)

Andromeda taken from a bortle 4 sky with a new moon, with a Sony a6400 attached to the skywatcher evostar 72ed telescope. 120 lights for 45 seconds at ISO 800, only lights, without darks or flats. The tracking mount that I have used is the skywatcher star adventurer 2i, I used the dithering function

Diwali Fireworks | Sony A6400 | Sigma 23mm f1.4

Got this lens before Diwali & to get some experience with a new lens, I shot these photos from our terrace. Sigma 23mm can take some good shots in indoor lighting as well. Just remember to set your metering mode properly.

Milky Way view from Australia

Recently went on a week holiday for family and took the opportunity with bottle 3-4 skies to try my hand with some milky way shots. Very happy with how this turned out given how unplanned it was.

Full view of galactic core with the SMC just making an appearance over the tree

ITAP of a lavender field at night

This is a composite shot on my Sony a6400 and the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 lens, used at the widest aperture and shortest focal length. I shot the foreground and sky separately. The former is a single 10" exposure at ISO4000, with a bit of light painting using my phone's torchlight. The starry sky is a s

APS-C has enlightened me as a former full-frame user.

TL;DR: I used to shoot with a Canon EOS R (full-frame) but switched to a Sony a6400 (APS-C) after a few years without a camera. Initially, I worried about missing full-frame benefits like better noise handling and bokeh, but I quickly adapted. The a6400’s light weight surprised me, and despite some

Drain Disco II (more info in comments)

More info: Whilst I prefer to use a classy combination of warm and cool white lighting for my urbex photography, some locations are just asking for a splash of colour. After recent rains, the reflections were better than usual in this junction chamber, deep under sleepy suburbia. Illuminated using 4

Always a surprise of what you might see at Zealandia

It's been my work horse lens for the past couple of years, mostly wildlife and football, it's been great, on the apsc sensor is about 150-600mm, low light the a6400 is pushing it, having to crank the iso being an f5-6.3, I like the lens tho, it feels sharp, wasn't over priced. Think I'll update to a

Galaxies in Markarian’s Chain (untracked)

Took this on a sony a6400 and a rokinon 135mm @f/2. Made up of 1844 x 1.6 second exposure, I took this a few days ago under bortle 2/3 conditions. Iso 2500, basic tripod, intervalometer. 20 flats/bias/darks. Stacked and stretched in siril, finished in gimp. Added saturation, messed with curves. I th

Best Camera for low light?

idk how much you’re willing to spend but i upgraded to a sony a6400 with a 17-70mm 2.8 tamron lens. i also tried the a6100 and found that the iso and autofocus did good as well. it’s not as expensive as the super fancy sony’s but it will get you going for some time until you find the need/income str
