My minimalistic setup
Went from a Sonos surround set (Beam gen2, 2x Era 100 and Sub mini) to the A9’s, with the purpose to enjoy active music listening. I am using an AppleTv to stream to sound of movies to the speakers. Active music listening went up from 0% to about 50/50 (music/movies).

Recommendations to replace old deviolet sound box
Sonos beam gen 2 is very good. Not an overpowering sound but plenty loud enough. Can add rears if you want to and even a sub woofer.

Samsung 5.1.2 soundbar and Pro setting
There is no clearly right or clearly wrong option. AV Amplifier mode allows for specific multichannel config selection, but you run the risk of incorrectly identifying how many channels you have (maybe one thinks they have 7.1, but this is a true 5.1 setup). If you select Soundbar, then you rely on

I purchased 2 (more) era 100s not knowing I cannot (officially) ad them to my beam, sub, rears. DL SonoSequencr. Wasn’t impressed. Am I doing it wrong?
Try playing a test tone track and make sure the channels are coming from the correct speaker. Also when playing audio check the Sonos app to see what format it is playing. If it is PCM instead of Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, Dolby Atmos, etc and the source supports those formats than it likely is the set

Adding fronts
I highly recommend adding fronts. I’ve experimented with Fives, Play 3s, era 100s, and One G2s. They all sound awesome but the order I listed them is how I rank them in terms of overall sound quality. I bought the Play 3s just do the test. $140 for the pair which seems to be the going rate. I was sh

AAC 5.1 but only getting Stereo PCM? (Sonos Beam Gen2/ARC connection)
Hi all,
Here’s my setup -
- Hisense U8QF
- Chromecast / Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 (same issue on both)
- Sonos Beam Gen 2
- Connected with ARC (not eARC)
- TV audio set to passthrough
- Plex audio set to passthrough
- No plex pass
I also have a setup with an LG CX/Sonos Arc so I don’t want to convert all my AAC a

Koje zvucnike imate doma?
Nisam audiofil. Telka mi ima dobre zvučnike (Phillips The One 75’), ali sam htio upgrade. Žena nije odobrila Sonos Era 350 pa sam uzeo dva Era 100 i Beam 2 kombo, za moje potrebe sasvim dovoljno, iako bih volio woofer ubaciti u mix. Pregovori su u tijeku.

Soundbar Junikies: What is your setup? Looking to upgrade my current (old) Samsung soundbar to something better. Budget under $1,000 is my target.
I have the same setup and I use a Sonos Beam 2. Works great and sounds perfectly good to me. There’s probably nicer options but I live in an old building with thin walls and don’t want my neighbours to hate me.

Is it worthwhile to add two Sonos One as fronts with my current setup?
It’s absolutely worth it! When you add the front L&R speakers, the system deactivates just the front L&R channels on the soundbar. All the others are still active and the outboard speakers replace those two channels. Your One SLs are perfect for the job! I have a lot of Sonos gear between two homes.
