Just had one of the best listening experiences of my life
HD 490 Pro and HD 660S2 are solid options as well if you don't want to instantly break the bank. Also the new HEDDphone D1 is one the best option under $1000 that has new diaphragm material tech that should offer close to planar-like speed and super wide EQ headroom (as much as I love Sennheisers I'

Just bought a couple of gifts for myself
Thank you! It was absolutely worth doing my own research before I bit the bullet😀I'd say that right now I prefer the HD660S2, compared to my HD600 it's more comfortable and the bass extension on it is more to my tastes, though the pads on the 600 are third party Soulwit Cooling Gel ones(put on by th

$500+ Headphone Impressions - HiFiMAN, DCA, Meze, ZMF and more
ngl that e3 impression is spot on. i ran into the same thing last year - it just does everything right without being boring. since you love the hd600 mids so much, you should check out the Sennheiser HD 660S2 if you haven't yet. keeps that natural timbre but adds better bass extension. also the Aune

Sennheiser HD650/660S2 vs HDB630: is it worth switching from open-back to wireless?
As much as I like the 550, to me the 650/660S2 are substantial upgrades in everything except soundstage and maybe bass (and I like the bass performance of the 6X0s, though it’s not as strong as some folks may prefer). My problem with the HDB 630 is their pricing, as nice as they are, I’m never grabb

Advice for Blues Headphone
If you're in the US, the HD 6XX (recolored HD 650) gives you all the performance of those at half the price. While I like the 660S2 a lot, it's pretty overpriced right now for this market. If I were going to spend that kind of money, I'd go with the HD 490 Pro or Meze 105 AER and get better performa

Headphone brand Sennheiser is up for sale
Honestly not entirely surprised - Sonova always felt like an awkward parent for a consumer headphone brand. Their DNA is medical hearing aids, and Sennheiser's strength is in the exact opposite direction: audiophile listening, studio monitoring, the HD 800 series crowd. The bigger question for me is

Sennheiser HD650/660S2 vs HDB630: is it worth switching from open-back to wireless?
I couldn't make the HDB630 phone app EQ engage reliably using Android. It might work better with iOS. I do not like the minimized sizing of all Sennheiser or Sony wireless headphones I've tried, and the comfort falls far behind so many wired headphones, and maybe especially the HD550/HD560S, and the

HD660s -> HD660s2 – should I "upgrade"?
The S2 is a clean improvement over the S in basically every way. Whether that's worth the extra money is up to you; if it were me, I'd look at a pair of 6XX instead as (to my ears at least) they're pretty equivalent. But honestly, I don't see any reason to buy any of the 600 series (other than maybe
