new to quality headphones pls help
The 599 is old school 500 series Sennheiser. Very warm with lack of detail. It's good for low quality harsh recordings. The 560S is a massively more performant headphones with a close to reference sound and much more extended into the sub-bass, but it will sound painful on bad quality recordings

Why do people give Sennheiser such good rep when - in my experience - their top headphones have build quality issues, specifically CREAKs. E.g. HD 490 pro
Yeah i mean, my old headphones are honestly the best things ever. However i just made a post with video showing ANOTHER brand new pair of hd 599 that have distortion on 40-250hz, basically the bass. Mate says it sounds like a broken subwoofer lol.

The HD 599 SE has poor audio quality
EDIT: Asked Amazon for a replacement, the newer HD 599SEs are much better. I think the older one had a problem, the higher frequencies were far too boosted. Got HD 599 SE, the sound feels compressed, muffled, rumbling, is this normal?
I have Komplete Audio 1 interface, so it must be the headphones fault is my guess.
The sound has a muffled, rumbling feel to it which sounds very cheap, I'm not sure if it's because of the low bass or earpads or something else, but it's there, and I'm not sure why.
