HD 25

From my own experience/collection: Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro would be my top choice for your purpose. One of the most comfortable closed headphones out there for extended use. Hmm, if you want something ridiculously durable and reliable, my immediate thought is the Sennheiser HD 25. They are a bit more expensive than $100 in Canada though. They are also an on-ear headphone. Type in "Sennheiser HD 25 durability test" on YouTube and you'll see what I mean. I like mine a lot
