I was in the same situation. That is why Samsung makes the Q800F (930F without rear speakers) and Q900F (990F without rear speakers). Both are several hundred dollars cheaper. They both sound great...I opted for the Q900F and have been very impressed.

Lots of ways to go for that money. You could get a Sennheiser Ambeo Mini or a Klipsch Core 200 and have money left over for a respectable sub. The Samsung Q900F is in your price range, too.

I have a similar living room setup...open and vaulted ceiling. I went with a Samsung Q900F...however it comes with the subwoofer. However, the subwoofer is actually very compact...and...the bass sounds pretty clean...i.e. not muffled and boomy such that dialogue gets overpowered. My living room is n

If you're not looking for rear speakers and money isnt an issue the Arc ultra with sub gen4 is probably the best on the market. Samsung Q900F (990F without rears) is also very good. For something more affordable look at the Samsung Q800F

The Samsung Q990 C, D and now F have pretty much been the same soundbar guts, especially between the D and F. So, I would go with a tried and true. But in the case of your Sony, if this were a widespread thing everyone would know. Yours may be a one off. Lastly, not to take their side but rules are

I picked the Q900F up for about $800 and the Q990D that is coming for about $650. I am put off by the JBL due to the sound bar not being as clear as the Samsung. Also I don't like the detachable speakers. I do like that sub, not sure of the overall RMS but if it is anywhere near the 1300mk2 - damn.

Bravia quad with sw5 sub if you can. Otherwise a Samsung q900F or q990f if you can handle the satellite speakers. I have both and prefer the quad but you won’t be amiss with either! The q990f constantly goes on sale for 900

I just bought my first soundbar after a separates setup just because it became too expensive to upgrade and routing cables again was too much of a hassle. I bought the Samsung Q900f. Is it the same as a separates setup? Yes and no. No in terms of the myriad tweaking one can do with a 5.1 system, and
