I was in the same situation. That is why Samsung makes the Q800F (930F without rear speakers) and Q900F (990F without rear speakers). Both are several hundred dollars cheaper. They both sound great...I opted for the Q900F and have been very impressed.

Lots of ways to go for that money. You could get a Sennheiser Ambeo Mini or a Klipsch Core 200 and have money left over for a respectable sub. The Samsung Q900F is in your price range, too.

The Samsung Q990 C, D and now F have pretty much been the same soundbar guts, especially between the D and F. So, I would go with a tried and true. I picked the Q900F up for about $800 and the Q990D that is coming for about $650. I am put off by the JBL due to the sound bar not being as clear as the Samsung.
