Hey guys, I made the mistake of going to the Hometheater snob Reddit. My bad, I apparently needed to be here. Lol

It seems that the snobs followed you here OP, lol. A lot of salty responses here. On topic: check the q800 series from Samsung or see if they have the q990 series on sale, they often have last year's model on a deep discount. I have the Q800C and really like it

TrueHD not DTS-HD MA displaying on Soundbar

For some reasons those samsung soundbar will display by default only 1/ "Dolby Atmos" if you are playing Dolby Atmos (via DD+ or TrueHD) 2/ DTS-X If it's another format soundbar will not notify you by default even it's a surround DTS track But there is a little trick that Samsung should make clear :

Q800 or Q600

This is going to be long but I hope it helps.... I have both the Q600A with no rears and the Q800B with the 9500S rears and I have to say... It's kind of a tough one but I would say the Q800 Series is the much better investment in the long run. The Q600 is great compared to TV speakers of course so

Tired of my old 5.1 setup and all the wires — is it time to switch to a soundbar?

Try a Samsung system. The Q-990C is 11.1.2 and the Q-800C is 5.1.2 and both are under $1000.

Which soundbars do you have real-world experience with, or have reliable info about , that help with dialogue clarity?

Q990c Q800c are really good, don’t even use any of the voice enhancements. My folks both wear hearing aids with the 800c and both say it’s really clear, nice bass too. I also own JBL Bar 500, not as good as the Samsungs, but drop the bass and raise the mids it’s not half bad.

Samsung 2025 vs 2024 lineup

Personally I wouldn't buy anything below the Q800's. But I honestly would say to find a Q800D or even a Q800C over the Q800F. The new Q800F subwoofer is a single 6.5" driver & 8" PR sealed enclosure, which is the same subwoofer from the S800's slim series soundbar. It doesn't hold a candle to the Q8

Has anyone tried the Samsung Q800F soundbar

Firstly q-symphony is more of a gimmick so don't bother with it(it is nice but no big deal). Also the q800c is a better soundbar than the bar 500, so go with the samsung. Yes go with the q800f if u can.

JBL Bar 800 underrated?

Yeah it’s been great, i find I do t end up using the rear speakers a lot but they’re nice to have, no Issues with battery they last HOURS, I don’t tho k they have ever run out on me even doing 2-3 movies in a row. Even if they did the package is powerful enough that you plug them back in and you hav
