I cannot make a decision…Curvex vs. 10R
The Saros 10R should at least in theory be the better bot out of those two, with the better object detection. Roborock has made their lineup a unholy mess. Before the S series (now Saros) was the top of the line bots no questions asked, then they introduced the Qrevo Curv and Qrevo Edge which had ju

First-time robot vacuum buyer — worth investing in the S8 MaxV Ultra or save some cash?
First of all, all robovacs are very cheaply made with plastic parts manufactured by other companies. Robovac manufacturers just buy these parts and install them in their products. They are not built to be durable at all. They have just enough computing power and memory to get the job done. Most of u

A Q revo-val szemben azért ajánlom cs

Smart and dumb at the same time.
You see, from the robot’s perspective, things that are about 2-3cm high and flat look a bit like a threshold (see it for yourself, you can remotely view the robot’s camera). So if it always avoided such objects, people would be angry (because the robot will refuse to drive onto thresholds). And if i

Which robot vacuum is worth the cost?
I got the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra-whatever and I'm really happy with it Vacuuming and mopping are both excellent (with the caveats below) and I'll be sticking with them for my next one unless something truly spectacular comes along from someone else. Couple of considerations to be aware of though: Ca

Thoughts on a new model?
The Reactive Tech object avoidance system on the Qrevo is quite basic, and I wouldn't rely on it to avoid many obstacles. It consists of a single light sensor, so if an object isn’t directly in its path, the Qrevo is likely to hit it. A step up in the Qrevo line includes the MaxV, Master, and Curv/E

Is there any progress made?
I have several Roborocks, The S8 Max V Ultra, a few S7 Max V Ultras, and a Q5+. I see occasional updates to the app, and the occasional firmware update, but I can't recall a single update that really changed or improved things over the last couple of years. I was expecting that a lot of the mapping,

Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality)
I have 5 of Roborocks. 2 of them generally don't get lost, the other 3 pretty frequently. (3 S7 Max V Ultras, one S8 Max V Ultra, and one Q5+). I think it has to do with room and furniture geometry, as if I swap them around, the issues persist in the rooms. The typical failure mode is it will drive

Free 1499€ robot: Robrorock tries to convince a German user to delete a negative video a about the Saros 10R
They still continue to not fix their object recognition algorithm yet adding gimmicks. I have Roborock S8 Maxv Ultra and recognition is incredibly unstable. One day its semi working and the other day its making stupid mistakes over mistakes. One day it recognizes the cable, the other day its trying

What robot vacuum would you recommend that includes a mop?
I bought the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra on a Black Friday sale in 2024. It worked great for a year until it stopped charging. I sent it in and paid ~1/3 of the cost in repairs and shipping. It came back and worked for a week or two before giving me temperature errors. Both times I think the motherboard
