How often do you really deep clean vs quick tidy?

I actually had a RoboRock Q5 robot vacuum, but the cats have so many toys laying around that it would get three feet away from its base, suck up some ribbon toy laying on the floor and stop cleaning. So eventually I just got rid of it.

Is there any progress made?

I have several Roborocks, The S8 Max V Ultra, a few S7 Max V Ultras, and a Q5+. I see occasional updates to the app, and the occasional firmware update, but I can't recall a single update that really changed or improved things over the last couple of years. I was expecting that a lot of the mapping,

Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality)

I have 5 of Roborocks. 2 of them generally don't get lost, the other 3 pretty frequently. (3 S7 Max V Ultras, one S8 Max V Ultra, and one Q5+). I think it has to do with room and furniture geometry, as if I swap them around, the issues persist in the rooms. The typical failure mode is it will drive

Help

Which Q5 models are yours? None of Roborock's Q5 series models has an ultrasonic carpet sensor, so it won't be able to avoid mopping your carpet. In Q5, you have to manually add an exclusion zone to your carpet area on the map to prevent it from being mopped. (see this subreddit post: https://www.re

Why are Roborock's maps so messed up?

It seems that they get confused by house geometry and conditions. I have 5 different levels in my house, and 5 different Roborocks. 2 of those 5 levels really confuse the robots, and one of the levels is hit and miss. The area with the most issues is my kitchen / living / dining / entryway level. It

Bought the Roborock Q5 Max+ & Insanely Impressed

My experience is bad with Q5 Max+. It does poor job with kitchen debris and gets stuck into chair legs way too frequently. Even after cleaning repeatedly and fully (like removing screws on the bottom and doing thorough cleaning) its performance didn't improve. Planning to get a non Roborock vacuum n

Q5 pro - objects stuck in dual roller but no error

My Q5 Pro has the same issue. I think it's just a "benefit" of the dual roller design that it doesn't realize there's something caught in it. The problem though is that it continues to vacuum and what's already in the dust bin somehow falls out. So not only does a jam cause it to not clean the floor

A robot for multiple floors

I did the "have multiple bots: one per floor", and that is what I would recommend. Here are some random considerations if useful: It is nice if they are the same brand, so only one app to deal with, which is what I did, but I think it even more important that each robot is bought to be ideal for the

Anyone else wish there were high-end non-mop options?

Best one to fit your needs was Q8 Max+. DualRoller, obstacle avoidance (although not the best one), decent dustbin size. Sadly Roborock ditched the Q5 and Q8 for no better replacements.Q7 M5+ is a downgrade in every aspect. Brush roller, battery size, dustbin size...
