is royal kludge good?

The older ones that say RK then the rough amount of keys like RK68, RK84 are ok ish but they've got this design on the pcb that kills the entire row if an LED on that row goes bad. The newer ones are actually half decent as a prebuilt and while I still wouldn't recommend them (as a hobbyist) they're

Yet another Royal Kludge victim

I was using an RK68 for 3 years up to just a week ago, it did have issues like not being able to connect via bluetooth and forgetting the custom profile rgb and macros but it only happened like once or twice and considering I got it for roughly $30 at the time, I think it was pretty good. I even got

Any good wireless keyboard recommendations for gaming and uni? (Bluetooth + USB dongle preferably)

Welcome to the sub! πŸ‘‹ That is a very specific use case, but you are in luck. Here is the honest truth: Getting a brand new wireless Keychron or Logitech mechanical keyboard for under $55 with both a dongle and Bluetooth is going to be really tough. However, there is a perfect alternative that fits y

Which one should I get?

Ive had the RK68 for the past 3 years and its great. Doesnt have a software to download, its plug and play and none of the keys are worn either. Great bang for your buck at that price point. Really good keyboard and you can swap your keys with ease.

Looking for keyb like this huntsman mini linear but 65%

i feel you on needing those arrow keys. the floating key look is pretty common on a lot of boards these days. you might like the Royal Kludge RK68, it has that same low profile look and comes in white. it's a solid 65% that's easy to move around and won't break the bank.

Keyboard recommendations

ngl water spills are the worst. for a similar gasket feel without the higround tax, check out the LTC NB681 - it's a 65% with silicone gaskets and hot-swap, usually around $70-80. the Keychron K6 Pro is another solid option, bit more expensive but great build quality. if you want cheaper, the Royal

What should I look for when picking a mechanical keyboard?

i was in your exact spot last year, totally get the confusion. honestly, you just need to focus on two things: switch type (clicky, tactile, linear) and size. for a first board, something like the Keychron C3 Pro is super solid and won't break the bank. if you want wireless, the Royal Kludge RK61 or

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - October 26, 2025

That's one of the great parts of the hobby. If you mean the Royal Kludge RK68, yeah, grab some different switches and some painter's tape and get in there! Or, you can do both. The Kisnt KN85 is a fantastic budget keyboard that showcases how different things can feel from one keyboard to the next.

Durock Mocha Chocolate Tactiles: A suggestion for a v2

These are great switches, I think you agree - a huge upgrade from the GK Gamakay Mars switches they replaced on a modded RK68 PRO aluminum board. Just the inability to handle spacebars is a huge bummer; though as per my earlier post, hand lubing them fixes them up for smaller stab keys (backspace, s
