You don't need software for any mechanical keyboard unless you want to change the configuration or layout. If the keyboard is QMK you can configure it from Chrome or Edge using usevia.app and possibly a JSON configuration file. Small to large QMK boards: 60%: Redragon K717 Pro * ($30) CIDOO QK61 * ($6

I got this Gamakay TK75 Pro on eBay with some missing switches, stabilizers, and keycaps. I harvested some stabilizers and switches from a Royal Kludge keyboard I have (and dislike). I wasn't finding any keycap sets that I really liked, and I had some blank ones laying around so I decided to try dye

It has unofficial VIA support and violates the QMK GPL license. The code available is only for the wired-only version. The reason people are downvoting is that the company uses open source resources and doesn't give anything back. According to the QMK, Royal Kludge license compliance status is: "PRs

All this super cheap stuff is garbage really. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Just not worth it. It's just e-waste... or as you've found out, far worse than that. [edit]... the thing is, people have been giving this advice for years... no one listens.

Did you know Royal Kludge is in violation of QMK's open source license? This means they are effectively stealing the hard work of the volunteers that maintain QMK for their own financial gain. You can read more about it or see other vendors who violate QMK's license here: https://docs.qmk.fm/license

not a user but generally anything cheaper than its supposed to be will always have a lot of quality control issues, and that keyboard has been out for a few years now, no fixes on any mentioned issues, software is still terrible, not to mention there are also some reports of the keyboard just killin

I don’t have a ton of experience with mechanical keyboards yet, but this feels like excellent value for the money. Unfortunately, they have perhaps the worst reputation for reliability of any mechanical keyboard brand, ever. So bad it became a meme. Even the name is trolling you. Sorry... don't shoo

RGB is just there as a feature if you want it. It's more for backlighting effects than for actually reading the legends in the dark. Most boards are south facing, meaning that the LED is at the bottom of the switch as this is the correct way to mount a Cherry MX switch. Most shine through keycaps ha
