All this super cheap stuff is garbage really. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Just not worth it. It's just e-waste... or as you've found out, far worse than that. [edit]... the thing is, people have been giving this advice for years... no one listens.

No. A cable, if incorrectly wired, will not work at all. If yours was and still is working then it's not the cable causing the issue. You can have have issues with cheap coiled cables, but nothing that can damage the keyboard. Usually, the issue is voltage drop due to length, and poor quality cable,
