Royal Kludge - Safety PSA

All this super cheap stuff is garbage really. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Just not worth it. It's just e-waste... or as you've found out, far worse than that. [edit]... the thing is, people have been giving this advice for years... no one listens.

No. A cable, if incorrectly wired, will not work at all. If yours was and still is working then it's not the cable causing the issue.
