So, I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else avoid the same mistake.

Check battery life - it’s a known issue for RingConn with issues starting around the 1 year mark.

It was not limited to Kickstarter. My first RingConn ring was a Gen2 Air that was sold by RingConn in their Amazon store. Its battery gave out at about 8 months old (it would drop 70-80% in 12 hours).

If you look closely, it isn't as large a percentage as it appears. Unhappy people scream from the rooftops repeatedly, while happy people tend to stay quiet. I can confirm that the RingConn Gen 2 will break after wearing it in a sauna. After 6 months of regular use, I eventually got lazy and stopped taking it off while using our 195 degree sauna. After only 1-2 sessions, the battery wouldn't hold a charge longer than 6 hours.
