To add to that, you'll need fairly expensive good quality high endurance SD cards. That can add up quickly if you're buying a large number of cameras. If you can run Ethernet wires or have power nearby that you can plug a power adapter into, you can use an NVR which will give you much greater storag

Recommended security cameras?

Anything Reolink is my suggestion. I got the Altas PT Ultra myself for the back garden and it’s top notch.. quality is perfect day or night, charged by solar and runs 24/7. App is really easy to use, lots of features and easy to access past events. No subscription required as it records to an SD car

Best wireless outdoor cameras without subscriptions

The reolink Altas Pt Ultra is the only camera in the market, that I'm aware of, that is battery powered and that can record 24/7 to some degree. Any other wireless camera can't record 24/7, they just record motion/detection events. IMO, for a battery powered camera there is no better solution than t

Looking for advice for HOA security camera

I strongly, strongly recommend against relying on solar/battery and WiFi for security cameras. Even most battery cameras are going to fall short of either security or "insurance" needs. Could you please give me some suggestions for systems that meet or at least come close to meeting our needs? If yo

Best Solar-Powered Security Cameras in 2026? Looking for a truly wireless setup.

Reolink Atlas https://reolink.com/product/reolink-altas/ or https://reolink.com/product/altas-pt-ultra/ If you have a requirement for pan & tilt Note that the best solar security camera is still not as good as the typical PoE security camera, the limited power means there have to be design compromis

Best wireless cctv

24/7 is CVR (Continuous Video Recording), search term: CVR battery outdoor camera. Reolink Altas PT Ultra has a decent sized battery.

Securities cameras getting stolen as a prank?

I’d look into a camera with local storage on an SD card and a battery backup, or better yet, a Reolink Altas PT Ultra. It records 24/7 to an internal SD card even if the WiFi is cut. Also, hide a trail cam (the kind hunters use) high up in a tree, they’re battery-powered, camouflage, and don't need

Reolink Altas Ultra PT

For anyone reading this in 2026 I've had my Altas PT Ultra for just over a year and even with the latest firmware, I'm still constantly having weird charging issues. After MUCH back and forth with Reolink, I was finally given an RMA # to return. However, it started charging again after so I decided

Help Starting A Basic Reolink Security System

I have my PoE cameras (front porch and above garage) and NVR in the garage connected to a mesh router point (ASUS Zen Wifi AX). I have one ASUS main router BE-98Pro, and 2 additional mesh access points (including the one in the garage). I also have a PoE switch out there. It works pretty well. Since

Motion sensor light with wifi camera/sd card

RLC-810WA or Reolink Duo Floodlight Wi-Fi if you have poor lighting at night/it is pitch black. If you have good lighting at night then CX410W or Reolink Altas PT Ultra, this last if you want the battery backup.
