Thoughts on replacing a rM2 for a Supernote Nomad?

rM2 has better hardware and hardware feel and is bigger, and feels more premium. The Nomad has a much much better software experience than the rM2. I personally switched from rM2, after 6 years, to Nomad and I'm loving the nomad, even the writing feels better. I don't think the subscription nor the

If you had/tried a remarkable and went with something else, what was it?

I started off with reMarkable 2 a few years ago, but after a year with it, I found it a bit too lacking when it came to my novel writing. I ended up buying a Boox tablet and I love it for novel writing. I can use all the reading apps on it, I can handwrite on it and still replace all my paper notebo

Is the Viwoods AIPaper a good fit for me?

I presently own a reMarkable 2, Boox Note2, & an AiPaper. The reMarkable 2 has long been a staple in the E-Ink market, but it is currently hampered by aging hardware and a restrictive subscription model that gates basic cloud syncing features. With only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, it str

The new logo nobody asked for has arrived!

limitations for less distractions I honestly think reMarkable themselves don't understand this mantra well. For example, there is no way to know the time on the remarkable, and while this is more "featureless" it's absolutely not distraction free, because when I need to know the time, I have to stop

my take about Beta 3.24: Convert Word Document to Notebook,

I feel a little weird responding to an AI-written blog. I apologize if you're not a native English speaker. Anyway, when you describe what the release actually does, you clearly indicate the deficiencies. However, your positive statements only refer to what you imagine this could become. The problem

Thinking about getting my first reMarkable Tablet

The Pure is better than the rM2 in every way, so I would get that if that's what you're looking at. But otherwise, I would recommend getting an Android device if you don't need color. They're so much more versatile and you'll be able to so many more apps for school. I only stuck with reMarkable beca

Looking for a reMarkable or similar

I have a reMarkable 2, but I find my Boox tablets more useful. Boox allows you to download apps (like a calculator) so I'm able to do more with it. My reMarkable is mostly a paper notebook replacement so I use it to sketch and write notes.

really, remarkable?

I do a complete backup of my rM1 in less than a few seconds with rsync. Just upload rsync to the device and use the appropriate command. That said, I have given up using my rM1 for anything but reviewing papers or students' work and never thought that it was worth upgrading to rM2 or rMPP. I underst

should i upgrade

I would not upgrade. My rM1 still works flawlessly after 6 years but I only use it occasionally to review papers or students work. My take is that, in spite of some solid improvements and integrations, the reMarkable system has failed to deliver in terms of usability and interoperability. The simpli

How Much Freezing is TOO MUCH Freezing?

One thing to note: removing PDF pages via the reMarkable Page Overview doesn't actually remove them from the PDF file, it just marks them as deleted in the metadata. The rM2 can def struggle with large PDFs (size not page count), you could look into compressing the PDF via ghostscript, etc.
