If you want to remap your keyboard keys or mouse buttons to certain keys, use "Input Remapper" by sezanzeb. It's VERY simple, it has a GUI, and it just WORKS. I just have set a certain shortcut to simulate a keyboard key, works well.
I know this is an older comment, but as of today, I have tried it and it didn't even recognize my mouse (razer cobra) side buttons and I am struggling to setup a basic macro.

Looking for Gaming mouse
I’ve used both the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 and the Razer Cobra Wired within your budget range. The Razer Cobra is slightly heavier at 58g, but the sides feel a bit too thin for me. Maybe my hands are just too big for it, but whenever I press the side buttons, the mouse shifts slightly. Despite that
