$70 billion loss over 4 years in metaverse and VR/AI glasses

Just looking at their current product, rayban metas, they’re pretty damn cool and work very well. Based on them being the first mover + cool factor I’m bullish on meta. Plus they have shifted their focus to AI and the metaverse stuff seems to have taken a back seat. FB + instagram + WhatsApp continu

Two unsupervised kids on a e-scooter hit my moving car, what can I do?

This is one of the reasons I wear my Rayban Metas more and more. The minute stuff like this happens, I say “hey meta, record a video”. Recordings of people saying stuff like that would be priceless in a court case and if they are stupid enough to hand it to you on a plate, that is a gift. As a motor

Insta360 GO 3S vs DJI Osmo Nano – for baby moments + occasional biking?

I went through the same mindset as you. Here is what I bought and ended up using the most for kid moments: Bought: Insta360 X3, x5, GO 3S and Meta RayBans 2 Used most: Insta360 X3 (now X5) and Meta Raybans Why: Kids move a lot. You’re going to need to have your hands free a lot. Boom, meta sunglasse

We’re blowing up! 🚀 To all our new members: Which pair of smartglasses is currently your favorite?"

I am in LOVE with my RayBan Meta Displays. I wear them as much as possible but the lack of progressive lens option is limiting. Ray BanMeta Gen 2s get worn when I need my full prescription. Even Realities are third, because of the progressive lenses issue and I'm not shelling out a billion dollars f

Meta Is Dying. It’s About Time.

This is embarrassingly wishful thinking. I'm all for dunking on Meta, but the very premise premise is shaky. She says Meta's time is now ... but also we're on the START of a gradual decline. Repeatedly lays out circumstances that led to other companies' downfalls, only to follow it up with how Meta'

Meta just laid off 1,000+ people in the Bay Area

There's a real disconnect between reddit users and people who end up buying rayban metas, I'll say that much. The rayban meta displays were sold out extremely quickly. I agree the VR goggles has poor PMF, but rayban meta not so much.

Quality Alternatives to the Meta Glasses?

Lol. I did't want to support meta either, but I did just buy the Ray-Ban meta wayfarer (gen 1?) on sale at Walmart for $220. And they are awesome. I looked into alternatives but idk it's hard to know what to think. Alot of the alternates on Amazon have terrible reviews

Ray-Ban Meta Glasses Gen 1 vs Gen 2

I keep a guide on my website for this exact question: https://monarchxr.com/ray-ban-meta-2025-vs-2023-comparison/ For your use case, id honestly suggest saving some money and just grabbing the Gen 1. The Gen 2 have far better battery life and a slightly better camera, but if you don't care about tho

The First 48

I took your same path almost. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, Even G1 and now Rokid. I agree on just about all of your points. The Evens were great style wise, but the Rokid Glasses are far more capable.

Nice daily camera better than Ray-ban meta

I live in Japan and own Ray-ban meta gen 1 and was satisfied as a casual camera. draw backs are Can't use meta AI(not sold and supported officially in Japan) Glass don't fit my face. I'm typical asian and ray-ban meta is not for me Short battery . I use ray-ban meta only as a camera and ear phone .
