QIDI Q2 VS ELEGOO CC2

This is also my first 3d printer and first time using 3d

Best choice for a 1st printer?

They both are excellent printers. I had the same goals- targeting specifically the higher end/higher temp engineering filaments and at the time the Qidi Plus 4 was the best option hands down. Never owned one.

I like to build model cars. I’m also gonna be building things for My Home Lab as well as other physics base projects and also electrical engineering projects. This seems to set the expectation that you will want to use a wide range of filaments, not just PLA and PETG. Consider fully enclosed printer

Looking for a printer for the family probably a Bambu unless there are better options I dont know about

I’ve had several brands of printers over the last 10 years. I’m currently running Creality, Bambu, and Qidi. It sounds like you are leaning toward Bambu. If you do go that direction, I’d advise the P1S over the A1 because the CoreXY technology allows for more precision, especially on taller prints.
