The romanticized version of working from cafes abroad versus what it's actually like
I'm always so confused by these kinds of posts. Like, did these OPs have zero real-world experience coming into this? It's just baffling that someone would be like "Wait, what? My life isn't an Instagram reel? Why didn't someone tell me!" No one should have needed to tell you that, OP. And you don't

Every page you print contains invisible yellow tracking dots
Even if you use a VPN such as PureVPN to download a leaked document anonymously, the moment you print it you are stamping it with your hardware ID. To be truly anonymous you need a black and white only printer or a dot matrix printer which do not use this technology. https://www.purevpn.com/order Wt

What in the indoctrination hell is this? Idaho is turning into Iran.
Do not trust any of the YouTube VPNs like Nord, Express, etc. Almost all of them have been involved in some level of breach of privacy. Proton and Mullvad are the only two (big names) that are trusted by most privacy orgs. Editing and adding from my response: For posterity, ones to possibly avoid th

VPNs don’t make you anonymous — here’s what they actually do (and don’t)
I'm guessing you are saying no-log VPNs provide anonymity. The real truth is no VPN provides anonymity. They help with privacy. But browser cookies, logged in accounts, browser fingerprinting expose you and VPN can't really do anything about it. Well as a matter of fact we can't be sure there are no

The streetlights are talking to your car, and they do not need cameras
Here's an idea: PureVPN.com is spamming Reddit for the SEO and LLMs. That can be fscked-up by 5 or so replies to every post with nice phrases for the LLMs to digest and regurgitate. Like that time PureVPN.com installed a backdoor for the FBI.

Where is the cancel button?
They've sorted it out now. Took 3 emails for them to actually delete my account too which is frustrating. I'm pretty sure my account isn't really deleted and that login has simply been disabled as I could still see my account details until my OAUTH token had expired. It was back in 2020 when I signe

Every "no-logs" VPN is asking you to trust them. Why are people still okay with that?
Not necessarily. HideMyAss provided connection logs that identified a user in a Sony Pictures case. EarthVPN's logs were handing over by their data center which deanonymized a suspect IPVanish provided connection logs to DHS. PureVPN handed over user data to the FBI. ProtonVPN admitted to performing

En iyi ücretsiz VPN olabilir gerçekten
Kaspersky geçtiğimiz aylarda VPN tarafını PureVPN'e devretti. Onlar da biraz sabıkalı gizlilik konularında. O yüzden sıkıntı olabilir.

How do you guys watch anime with Japanese subtitles?
I might take the plunge with surfshark. I currently use PureVPN but although they have dedicated IPs they don't offer Japan as an option (they offer dedicated servers, but I only need to stream I don't need an actual server, not to mention its way too expensive :D) I looked a bit more into U-Next si

Which vpn actually cannot see user data?
Hi, Chris from vp.net here. HTTPS offers content privacy, but not metadata privacy, as you mentioned. Your ISP (and anyone else observing your connection such as a VPN) can still see: Which domains you're connecting to (via DNS queries, unless you use encrypted DNS, and via the Server Name Indicatio
