The port only changes on Proton when it reconnects so you shouldn't need to do it every day. If you need to have some traffic outside of the VPN you can use split tunneling. i recently started having issues with PIA VPN when i had it broadly connecting to us eastern and i ended up switching to a more local city and it fixed it. I'd also love to make mine more of a broad scope again.
