Best Adjustable Dumbbells Set?
They DO all have tradeoffs - you just have to figure out what tradeoffs you're willing to make and what aligns with your personal preferences. I have a preference for the powerblock Pro 100s, but they're expensive, bulky, and have that cage design which are all real downsides and I don't often recom

What are the best adjustable dumbbells for a home gym?
I went with powerblock pro EXPs up to 80 lbs. Here was my criteria that helped me make my decision: -durability: I was concerned about the mechanism breaking as well as if I dropped the dumbbell (something I never do, but you never know if you have an injury or accident). Powerblocks have probably t

HOME GYM DUMBBELL DEBATE
I have powerblocks and they seem to be a solid choice as well. No complaints. Overhead extensions are a bit awkward.

Why do all adjustable dumbbells have at least 1 thing that sucks about them?
Every adjustable dumbbell has downsides because they’re all compromising something in order to save space. The only perfect dumbbell is a full rack of fixeds. That being said, PowerBlocks are pretty great. I’ve had mine for close to a decade now. They are very durable. Other than swapping in knurled

Vintage powerblocks!
You can get the color indicators for the weights from Powerblock directly if you talk to support. I've fixed up a few sets of Powerblocks myself (haven't posted the pics here though) and that is very easy to rectify if you want the indicators. Folks have posted sticker files with the weight indicati

Best Adjustable Dumbbells Set?
I got them at Christmas. Still happy with them. There is minor clanking sounds when they get heavier but it's still very solid. The knurling is nice and the handles are thicker which adds to the stability although could be a drawback for people with smaller hands (but significantly smaller, like a c

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of March 27, 2026
They’re reasonably indestructible. Changing the screw with this style takes a long time, so I only use them with the longer screws, which starts at 95lb and then up. My cons are the handle length is a little long at around 7”, powder coating dulls the knurling a lot, and the grip diameter of 35.5mm

Powerblock handles
I still choose my Powerblocks for most exercises due to the liking the handle more often over my hex ergo set and my AOC Pilates (octagon style Eisenlinks). I would say the Powerblock brand knurl handle feels like a good set of commercial dumbbells. My AOCs have a 35.5mm handle diameter and feels a

Ironmaster vs Powerblock Elite EXP?
I have the powerblocks and love them. I will say the rubber grips aren't great, I ended up replacing them with grips I printed in ASA (https://www.printables.com/model/1141821-powerblock-knurled-handle) which have actually been quite nice.

Ironmaster vs Powerblock Elite EXP?
I went with PowerBlock USA Elites, with the knurled grips, and love em. I like the cage and find that it supports my wrist nicely for some exercises like lat raises and such. I looked at the IM dumbbells, and was very close to getting those, but the PowerBlocks won out because I didn't want to deal
