Why do all adjustable dumbbells have at least 1 thing that sucks about them?
Every adjustable dumbbell has downsides because they’re all compromising something in order to save space. The only perfect dumbbell is a full rack of fixeds. That being said, PowerBlocks are pretty great. I’ve had mine for close to a decade now. They are very durable. Other than swapping in knurled

"Ironmaster/Eisenlink dumbbells are too slow when you want to change the weight"
I bought the Powerblock EXP back in the Covid dayz but these are the all metal ones and I don't think they even sell them anymore, they changed to putting that plastic coating on them. But still Powerblocks would probably be the fastest change of weight plates at 10 LB increments, although as you mi

Adjustable Bench & Adjustable Dumbbell advice
50 lbs is an achievable mark for good DB’s. I got powerblocks and love em. Is that just where you want to start or is that where you think your strength cap is?!Couple of criteria’s to look at.-Drop-ability/ durability- size/ structure- adjustability/speed of change.- priceThe ones I considered most

Why do all adjustable dumbbells have at least 1 thing that sucks about them?
6 months ago I was in the same position and trying to evaluate an adjustable dumbbell set. Here’s why I went with the Powerblock pro exp 100: -able to change the weights quickly, without putting them back into any sort of cradle. I really enjoy drop setting and the idea of being able to put them dow

Powerblock Expansion or New Adjustable Set
Yeah I’m stoked to have both, but they both have pros and cons. I probably should’ve bought Pepin’s before Ironmaster’s and Ironmaster’s before PowerBlocks lol I’m definitely favoriting the Pepin’s more in my workouts just for the fact they speed up my workouts back to the time frame it took using P

PowerBlock Pro 100 Straight Bar and Kettlebell, worth it ?
I’ve played around with PowerBlock setups and the dumbbells themselves are great… the attachments are where it gets a bit “it depends” the straight bar works, but don’t expect it to feel like a normal barbell. it’s a bit clunky, balance is a little weird, and adjusting weight isn’t as quick as just

Adjustable dumbbells or rack?
I have two sets of Powerblocks. One that is 5-50 with 5 lb quick adjustments, and a 10-90 with 10 lb adjusts. I find this works well for me when I need mediums and heavies, as well as when the instructor might use the same dumbbells for different exercises but I’m able to easily and quickly tweak it

Best Adjustable Dumbbells Set?
I got them at Christmas. Still happy with them. There is minor clanking sounds when they get heavier but it's still very solid. The knurling is nice and the handles are thicker which adds to the stability although could be a drawback for people with smaller hands (but significantly smaller, like a c

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of May 15, 2026
I’m in the exact same boat! I’ve been training neutral grip with my PowerBlocks and it’s a great alternative movement. It’s just that once I get over 70 lbs, getting the dumbbells up into position sucks. So I know I don’t need a MGPB or VHS. But man do they look cool.
