My first HiFi setup.
Price to sound quality; I'd be surprised if polk could be beat. I currently have 2 pairs: A9's for power, and a new pair of audio reserve R200 for finesse.

Replacing big, old tower speakers - what should I buy?
At black friday there should be good prices on all the popular entry level bookshelf models.Dont let the term "entry level" scare you, they are very good. Polk Audio R200, Klipsch RP-600M II(must be generation II), Elac DBR62, Elac Debut 3 B63, Q Acoustics 3030c, Monitor Audio Bronze series, Wharfed

Cartridge upgrade advice
In case it matters... Yes it matters! The speakers may be the weakest part of your setup and may be the first thing to upgrade for the most improvement in sound quality. What is your current setup not doing for you? For the most improvement first upgrade from the basic entry level Sony speakers to b

Upgrading my vinyl setup — Marantz SR6006 + Polk RT35 for $225, worth it?
Does the NAD C316BEE have a PHONO input to a built in phono preamp? If so then try RT83 to PHONO input instead of RT83 to Art DJ Pre to one of the line inputs. I have the same NAD and also a vintage NAD and they both sound great! Magnat Monitor Supreme 202 may not be all that much better than Polk R

Not noticing much of a difference between a cheap Angel's Horn and a Fluance
The Edifier speakers are the bare minimum and are often paired with the bare minimum AT-LP60X. Don't expect records to sound as good as digital, records have their own sound with their own flaws and frustrations while giving you a physical format to play and collect. Better larger passive speakers o

Editors! What speakers do you have for your home theater? After working on Genelecs all day editing, I'm considering getting their home theater speakers.
I have a set Polk Audio Reserve R200 with a Leak amplifier. Bought a bigger amplifier in case I wanted to add surround speakers but ultimately haven’t done that yet. Bought the speakers as my turntable set up and have since routed my tv through it. The speakers are excellent for the price and I don’

Am I getting carried away?
Why not upgrade to the Polk Reserve R-200, the top bookshelf they make? Danny G. thought they were hard to improve upon. Then, if there’s still an itch to scratch, upgrade the amp to separates….miniDSP SHD as your preamp, and a pair of Fosi V3 Monos as amps. This will give you Dirac Live, an analog
