My first ereader

So glad to see more people trying Pocketbook eReaders. I have been preaching their greatness for years now. Can't understand why they aren't more popular with the ease of how to put any books on it at all. No ads. I think they're great. I have had about all of them but now I am down to the Era and t

A case for PocketBook Verse Lite - My impressions

TL;DR : The Verse Lite is worth considering for just wanting to read. Support of many formats including Adobe Digital Editions, and the ability to set gesture support for many functions. No Bluetooth, no Kindle book support (unless you remove DRM), and auto brightness can be literally headache induc

Looking for small and simple eReader with buttons

If you want simple, black-and-white, with front light and with buttons, then in the Western world outside the US, really your only options to buy new and have a semi-respectable brand are the various PocketBooks (Verse & Verse Pro are 6’’, Inkpad 4 is 8’’ and all those have buttons on the bottom alt

I'm pulling the triger tonight, which do you recommend?

I have the Pocketbook Verse and i love it.I also have a Kindle Basic in Matcha,The Verse has some advantages, as does the Kindle. The Verse has physical buttons, a micro SD card slot, and the best privacy, as you don't need to create any account, everything is optional.Mine is in permanent offline m

ereader recs

I'm thrilled with my pocketbook Verse for novel and fanfic purposes. If you're a less heavy reader than I am you may even go for the Verse Lite, which is a little cheaper (i wanted the expandable storage and the buttons so i went with Verse) I've seen Kobo Clara BW recommended here a LOT and it's si

Best e-reader?

When it comes to ereaders, “good” is somewhat subjective, depending on one’s personal needs / wishes. If you don’t have any existing purchased ebooks already, and if you have no particular needs beyond “reading text-based books”, I’d probably recommend a Kobo Clara BW or PocketBook Verse / Verse Pro

Anyone here pocketbook user? Please review your pocketbook e-reader. Is BW better than color version? What about battery consumption for both version?

Hello, for normal eBook Reading BW gives a sharper, clearer reading experience, unless you read lots of colored Manga, BW is the way to Go. Color: reduced contrast, screen door effect due to the extra color layer. Also what i noticed on my Pocketbook Verse is that the default reading app has problem

Looking for a small/light non Amazon-based E-reader

Your options, in brief, are: Android readers - they can use the Kindle app so your Kindle books will be easy to get to. However, I’m not at all sure an Android reader will give you ~12 hours of reading time with the frontlight on, especially if there’s cold weather. Boox Go 7 is great, and has butto

Entry Level E-reader

With these specifications, I’d say PocketBook Verse Pro or Kobo Clara. The PocketBook has buttons for page turning (which can be really comfortable); the Clara doesn’t but has a newer screen. If you just read text-based books (stories, novels, text-based non-fiction), then 212 PPI should be quite ok
