They're experts at spending money, but they're also experts at finding improvement for free. I have some crappy Pioneer DM-40 near field monitors, having the tweeters at ear height and both pointed properly at my listening position is genuinely a huge improvement. I use them at my DJ setup and they

Pioneer DJ PLX-500 vs Audio Technica At-lp120x?
pioneer dj dm-40 What are the room dimensions? Ideally spend twice as much on speakers as on the turntable. For the best value buy used for often half the cost of new. The Pioneer DJ DM40 are compact 4" mid bass driver desktop monitors often used for music monitoring and production on a desk, 2 anal

Speaker isolation
Just get some foam isolation pads (the big ones that cover the whole footprint of the speaker), I assume they all work about the same. Also though, Pioneer markets all of their speakers as "monitors", but in my experience they're never anywhere near flat enough to be considered a monitor, instead tr

Coming back to DJing
With that background and budget, the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 is the best choice. For monitors, basic 4–5" powered speakers (Pioneer DM-40/50, KRK, etc.) are more than enough, and any decent DJ headphones will do.

Does your Creative AE 5,7,9 sound work after standby? (S3)
My AE-5 Pure Plus Edition did this under Linux Mint and I thought it had to do with Linux but it ended up being my powered speakers themselves lol Pioneer DM-40. I’ve since replaced them with passive Wharfedale Diamond 11.0 speakers and a Fosi Audio V3 amp. Haven’t had a problem since.

A beginner looking for set up tips
Just look for deals with the controller. Quick google of "Inpulse 500 + speaker" offers tons of options. Do a quick review search of the speakers before you commit, but when you're starting out, you don't need to be messing around with silly money monitors. Just gonna throw something like this at yo

Is buying one Rokit 5 speaker okay?
It'll do the job, but you're probs going to want that second one. You can always just buy another when you are able too. When I first started out people went on and on about the monitors not being for DJing n blah blah, I wasted so much time trying to find what was right. Ended up just going with Pi

Monitor speaker buzzing
My Pioneer DM-40's also hiss all the time, as far as I'm aware most Pioneer speakers do and it isn't limited to Pioneer either, I know Adam's hiss pretty bad too. Just gonna wait until I'm old enough that the hissing is out of my range of hearing, shouldn't be too long now!
