Which printer should I get

Boy we do get shafted on the prices here in NZ don't we. Okay so there's a breakdown below. I'm assuming you've got a wash and cure setup of some kind you'll be bringing from the existing 2K setup. It's also worth knowing that without direct A-B comparisons you're unlikely to find almost literally a

What’s the go-to printer?

A anycubicphoton m7 max, a phrozen sonic mega 8k s and a elegoo saturn 4 ultra (if you are doing it as a company and its going to be used 24/7 a formlabs form 4 is nice and if you can get it, a formlabs form 3 with the auto system) these are all good printers, i havent used them myself but i have he

What's the best large format printer?

As others have already stated: anycubic doesn't do per layer settings which is an immediate no go for anybody wanting to print with difficult resins, print straight on the plate, which is a major no go, especially for a large format machine that costs more. As for the Phrozen mega 8kv2 / 8ks: I just

FEP Non-Stick

ACF is another new type of film used on some larger printers. It's definitely superior to regular old fep film in the sense that it has much lower peel forces and stretches less, but in my experience (and I've seen a lot of YouTubers and reviewers say this as well) it sometimes has issues with tiny

Best Large Format Resin Printer?

I upgraded from a m7 pro to a phrozen mega sonic 8k s a few weeks ago. Great machine no problems so far.

New printer choice

I use a phrozen 8k mini. If I ever were to upgrade, i'd likely just grab the bigger 8k. 8K seems to pump out great quality for a decent price at this point.

Wait for Jupiter 2 or gk3 ultra?

As somebody who has had a few large format printers I'd say right now the choice is between a phrozen mega 8ks and waiting until either elegoo or phrozen make a large format 16k printer. Anycubic doesn't allow for separate wait before print times on bottom and normal layers so that is immediately ou

S4U 16k - are flexible build plates still not worth the risk?

I use the flex plates on some of my resin printers that can be adapted to work without having to modify the gcode, as I think is a requirement to use them with tilt vats. Overall I have been quite pleased over the last few months with this brand on my Mega 8K S printers.. Having said that, I do not

Returned the Anycubic M7 Max... need another large format printer

Even in J3DTech’s latest video where he says he likes the GK3U, he keeps commenting on the parts people (including himself) has problems with. His earlier video on the GK3U linear rail snafu showed how much flex is in the Z axis due to them replacing the dual linear rails with a single extruded alum

Could someone with a 3D printer test-print my model? I'm trying to verify if it's printable before buying a printer.

Then we’ve got the same level of experience and I still stand by it, it’s not challenging or difficult. Nor is it pushing to hard mode, quite the opposite it’s literally learning the basics. Two years ago I’d have agreed with going for a resin model because the entry barrier was a lot easier on resi
