First time posting in the sub. These are my initial thoughts on the Patagonia Micro MLC 22 Ltr backpack. I’ve been searching for a personal item bag for a while and I think I’ve found a solution. I’ve posted pictures to help with the bag size and how it fits in a Ryanair sizer as I haven’t seen one

Volume is not "standardized" and naming doesn't really matter, but yes, something is awry here. The external dimensions of the Mini MLC create a bag with max volume 27.55L, and 26.56L for the Micro. So either the internal configurations eat space differently, the dimensions are not accurate, or pata

Honestly, if you have access to local stores that have both, I think you'd be able to decide in under a minute which on you prefer and it would be more useful than any review you'll read online. While I haven't seen either in person, between my wife and I we own a number of both Cotopaxi and Patagon

I think Patagonia did well in the black version of the Micro MLC. I too don’t like obnoxious branding but don’t mind if it’s more subtle

My Personal Item bag is a Patagonia Mini MLC, but now they also make the Micro MLC, which may be worth a look as the Mini MLC is quite large for a personal item

Patagonia also just released the micro MLC which looks promising as a personal item option! But it’s on the smaller side and has a dedicated tech space which may or may not be worth it to you Edited to add it’s actually listed as 46x30x19

I did this exact trip, but with a massive shift in time spent to save money. Also my first trip! Friday to Sunday (yesterday) $15 ATL to EWR $37 a night (yep) for an AirBNB in NJ where it’s a male only shared space. 6 beds in 3 sets of bunk beds. It was ridiculous but worked perfectly. A+ would book

I have a Patagonia Mini MLC and it’s great. Use it almost every day and I can fit my work stuff (usually two laptops), plus running shoes, a towel, running clothes/a change of clothes and toiletries, so I can stop by the gym on my way to work and I don’t have to deal with multiple bags on public tra
