I hope this would be true..

The cheap camera will be something useless that no one cares about. I have a theory that the more expensive camera could be the small modern MFT camera everyone wants. A few YouTubers I follow have been mysteriously pimping out MFT all of a sudden. Being given GH7 by Panasonic to “test” out of nowhe

My long-term LUMIX S1 ii review

Not sure if my opinion is of any value to you, but I'm a former S5II owner. I took advantage of Panasonic LUMIX's trade-in trade-up promotion, which provided me a $400 discount on the purchase of the new S series camera and I received ~$850 in value for my S5II (varies depending on condition, mine w

Can the S1Rii overheating situation be fixed with firmware?

If I recall correctly, the photo overheating has already been addressed by Panasonic in its first firmware updates. I also think you’re underestimating the processing power and features you’re getting in such a small body. Look at canons R5 for example, that camera had it even worse than the S1RII.

Anybody go from S5IIX to S1RII?

I switched from Sony (a7r5, a1) to Panasonic last year. Picked up the s5iix and a few lenses. I fell in love with video on that camera, and for photos is was pretty good, but nothing I would write home about coming from those two Sony bodies. I’ve since purchased the s9 (which I love for a small wal

Panasonic LUMIX S1ii and S1iie Megathread

people complained about the S1RII for no reason. lumix are making flagship that compete heavily with other brands, and even beat them in a lot of aspects and basically don't compromise features, build quality, etc, and give out free firmware updates, yet, people still complain. panasonic cameras are

Micro Four Thirds is "just getting killed" - Peter Jeune, on Petapixel Podcast 12/06/2025

I'd say that MFT is undead - on the OM side, everything that's been released is a repackaging of the technology from OM-1, when the R&D was completed by Olympus already prior to the camera, binocular and dictaphone business being offloaded. On the Panasonic side, the G9II is a great camera, so is th

Switching to Lumix S1RII (or S1II) for professional photography?

Hi, first of all I'd like to point out that based on your description in your post you can't go wrong with either of these great 2nd generation LUMIX cameras. If I may I'd like to share with you why we chose the S1 II over the S1R II. We tested the S1R II for a couple of months side by side to the S

S1R II / S1 II or Sony A7V?

if you are mainly looking to shoot video, the s1ii is the clear best choice. for photography s1rii has higher resolution and better evf while a7V has better af, less rolling shutter and slightly better dynamic range. if you are going to shoot photos as much as video, the a7V might be the best option

Lumix G9II Expectations for 2026 – Has Panasonic moved on from Micro Four Thirds?

Apparently the G9ii hasn't had a firmware update because it runs on the older platform, whereas the GH7 runs on the newer one. Which means the some of the features aren't compatible as it's an entirely different operating system and completely different hardware architecture. It's the same reason Lu
