Thoughts on Lumix S5iix for video vs what I currently use (Nikon Z8)

Hey there! Full time business photographer videographer here. Looks like you’re hitting the limit of using a hybrid photo camera for long form video. The Nikon Z8 is an incredible camera, but some would say it isn’t built for hour plus continuous recording, especially in a theater environment. Readi

Panasonic Lumix cameras are so underrated. Just got one and i don't regret it! Highly recommend

I just switched to the canon r6 mkiii but I use Panasonic s5iix’s at my job. I guess I’m an idiot because I assumed all camera manufacturers have good ibis now but the Canon ibis is fucking dog shit. Almost unusable for video. I really was spoiled by Panasonic.

Is Lumix better for video than photography?

I wouldn't say it's video first. It's just that Lumix actually gave you the video features required to fully utilize the capabilities of the camera. The competition often kneecapped their cameras by treating video as a gimmick. Even on Sony cameras, which were popular for video and had capable hardw

I mathematically hacked Panasonic V-Log to perfectly accept Fujifilm's official Film Simulation LUTs.

I ran some test shoots with my X100V and the S5IIX and have to say that, even with F-Log, the footage already looks remarkably similar. I then converted the X100V F-Log material to F-Log2 using a Color Space Transform (CST) (which likely introduced some color shifts, as the X100V doesn't natively su

Got 5k to put into my business and need a good camera setup. This is what I chose any suggestions or ways to cut down on the cost I'm already very good at video editing and photo editing, color grading run an Instagram with 117k followers. Been using other friends cameras but finally getting my own.

Unless you are married to the idea of going Sony, consider the Lumix S5iix. Outstanding hybrid for same price as the slightly outdated a7iii. Your estimates for batteries and charges will transfer to Panasonic nicely

Anybody go from S5IIX to S1RII?

I switched from Sony (a7r5, a1) to Panasonic last year. Picked up the s5iix and a few lenses. I fell in love with video on that camera, and for photos is was pretty good, but nothing I would write home about coming from those two Sony bodies. I’ve since purchased the s9 (which I love for a small wal

Any Lumix Cameras Around $2000 That are Just as Good, If Not Better Than The Sony FX30?

I think Panasonic has the video game on lock. Also , if you’re looking for a camera there are 2 or 3 S5IIx listed in r/photomarket

Best video camera worth buying the MOST currently in your opinion?

I can only speak to full frame. If you don't need the ABSOLUTE best in autofocus, and want to avoid breaking the bank, the Panasonic S5IIX does absolutely everything well. One step up in price will give you a big step up in performance to the Panasonic S1II. Another step up in price will give you an

Can I make something like this with my lumix that shoots 10 bit 4:2:2?

No, it will not be 2x harder at all. Raw is pretty overrated in my opinion. The fundamentals of composition, lighting, blocking, costume and production design will have a much larger impact on your images. Example: I recently directed a feature film shot primarily with an ARRI Amira. A limited numbe

Nikon Z6 iii vs Nikon ZR vs panasonic S1 ii for travel videos?

Regarding IBIS - Panasonic is on a completely different level. Nikon’s stabilization is nowhere near as good as Panasonic’s, not even close. There’s a simple physical reason: Panasonic bodies have a much larger IBIS chamber, which gives the sensor more space to move and correct motion. It’s not just
