Best video camera worth buying the MOST currently in your opinion?

I can only speak to full frame. If you don't need the ABSOLUTE best in autofocus, and want to avoid breaking the bank, the Panasonic S5IIX does absolutely everything well. One step up in price will give you a big step up in performance to the Panasonic S1II. Another step up in price will give you an

Talk me out of insanity

Two questions to make you think. What are you missing in not having the desired big 3 camera systems vs your s5IIx. Meaning what more will you gain? Are you sure it's not your skill vs the gear? I ask #2 because I don't know much about s5IIx capabilities so I looked up what is important to me as spo

Leica SL lenses on Lumix S1RII: Getting that Leica look? Sample images?

I can share a few images. As per previous comments, a good portion of Leica SL Lenses are either rebranded Panasonic or Sigma lenses; that doesn't mean they're bad though. My particular lens in the Leica APO Vario-Elmarit 90-280, which is one of the first lenses released for the SL system roughly 10

Is it time to jump to FF? Considering GH6/GH4/G5 --> S1II and S9

Honestly it’s kind of a weird lineup of native lenses for primarily video use. If less noise at higher ISO’s is the most important thing I’d say go for FF. Personally I think the S5IIX is a great value for video. I wouldn’t say you have a huge investment tying you to M43 and you can certainly get de

Should I switch from Fuji to Nikon?

i learned on an AE-1... the whole retro thing makes very little sense to me i have an X100VI but i like it for its size and what it can do in that small and easy to use package...not the way it looks DP review compared the Zf to a few other cameras The Canon EOS R6 II is still the camera to beat in

What are your thoughts on the s5ii af (and more) ?

So I started with the s5iix. The phase detect autofocus was perfect for my needs as I don’t do any professional sports. It locks on. Not as good as Sony but not much worse, and the ibis blows Sony out of the water. I also significantly prefer the skin tones coming out of Panasonic cameras, and for v

Choosing between the S1RII or A7RV/IV for editorial photography.

I shot with an A7iv a lot during college, my main work cam for years was an OG G9, and I've just picked up the S5iix. So not super across the S1R but I have some reference as to the two systems. What I can say is that the menu system/software/ergonomics are one of the biggest reasons I stuck with Lu

Autofocus: Fujifilm XT5 vs Panasonic S mk2 variants?

Why don’t you get a Lumix S1RII or S1II and try it by yourself? You can always return it. Personally as an S5IIX and S1II owner, I would say the focus is as reliable as Sony, Canon or Nikon, being Fuji behind in video. In fact I’ve watched a video recently where an R5II misses focus on a wedding vid

The Right Lumix for an Indie Filmmaker?

I am an also a low budget horror film maker and I've got the S5İİ X and I fucking adore it. I recently shot a proof of concept horror short with it and the image coming out of it was simply stunning with just a simple grade on Davinci Resolve and I wasn't even shooting ProRes to an SSD, just a all i

Just bought a used S1 mk1.. Am I dumb?

Yes it seem panasonic wanted to offer a premium experience going in full frame with the S1/S1R. Such steals for the price (unless you need state of the art autofocus or video codecs etc). Otherwise now I tend to go more taking my S1 for photography then my S5iix !! Cheers//Pröst!! 😎🔥
