Olympus / OM has always been the dominant brand in M43s. Not that nobody uses Panasonic. Panasonic have also not exactly been doing a lot in the M43s space in recent years. There’s still plenty of good gear but what is relatively new is fairly niche (GH7 for example). OM has much more of the mainstr

S5ii is Panasonics entry level full frame camera made using quite an older sensor that. The g9ii is a more niche product but also a higher end model, just that its a m4/3 which some will see as a crippled camera. I personally would take gh7 over a s5ii anyday of the week

Disclosure: I own the G9 II and shoot on GH7's and FX30's for work. I'm gonna have some bias towards the Panasonic offering so take this with a grain of salt. The G9 II is probably the closest you can get in the Lumix lineup at a cheaper price point. It's currently on sale at Amazon for 1.6k body on

I switched from Fujifilm to Lumix, albeit the G system. I now have a GX9 which I absolutely love. Panasonic, where is your damn GX9ii? My wallet is ready! Yes, the physical control dials of Fuji are nice, they are in muscle memory and I still kinda miss them. But Fuji is mediocre otherwise. The film

Panasonic GH7 supports ARRI LogC3. I would argue that the very mention of the partnership with ARRI contributed to a the sales of this camera rather handsomely. Even if ARRI LogC3 is a separate, paid feature. Especially, as numerous YouTube creators proved its compatibility with ARRI cameras. By whi

I don't have the GH7, but I've got an S5iix. While I do love the camera and I knew that L mount lenses weren't quite as available as some of the competition (Sony in particular), I do feel like the amount of lenses available and the price of them is at least a bit more detrimental than I thought. A good portion of what you’re talking about certainly is true, but so is a good portion of what you’re talking about completely subjective. At the end of the day, a camera is no more than a box with a sensor in it. There is so much more that goes into a good videographer and cinematographer and no,

I have a lot of questions here. First off completely switching systems when just as good or better cameras are already out for Panasonic as opposed to a rumored Sony camera is a weird choice to consider unless you just want to be in their ecosystem. Secondly, I’m not sure why that if you’re happy wi

Youll find eventually that you dont want a hybrid camera at all, because the ergonomics of a Photocamera is poor for shooting Video, and vise versa. Just get 2 diffrent cameras. Even the Lenses, you want manual ones for Video and automatic ones for Photografy. A good way for you might be a uses FX30

No worries! I think it’s just overshadowed in other areas because it tries to be too hybrid. The gh7 is a better video camera, but then the full frame offerings from Panasonic are even better than that. The s9 is a better edc jpg LUT camera, but then there’s also all of Fuji. I find m43’s best niche
