Is upgrading to a G9 from a G85 for portrait/snapshot photography worth it?

The G9 is both much better and a bit worse than the G85 (I have a G81, its European cousin). Things that are better on the G9: The 20MP sensor has both lower noise and better dynamic range processing speed. The camera just feels much more zippy in general better AF, including much better face/eye de

Looking for lens recommendations for my lumix GX80 (GX85).

If you are parting with the 12-32 and you are in the US, I would be interested to buy it! It's a lens I've been meaning to try. I'm guessing your in the EU though since you have the GX80 instead of the GX85. My favorite primes for my GX85 are all vintage lenses adapted to M43, let me know if you are

GH7 Debating moving back to mft

I've 1400e voucher and need to spend it on something of value to me. Ive 2 GH5s and a G85 - some good Canon and Sigma glass, and some Metabones adaptors etc. I got into it through sheer accident, a friend selling his old GH5 and picking up second hand deals along the way. I am still learning on this

Budget DSLR Camera for 2025?

Panasonic Lumix G85, especially if you want hybrid photo/video. It's an excellent camera with all the features, an affordable lens ecosystem, and generally fun to use. It is also very lightweight as compared to most other DSLRs. Technically it is a mirrorless camera in the shape of a DSLR, but that'

What's the Best Beginner-Friendly Travel Cameras?

A used Sony A6100 and a used Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 would amount to just about $1000 or a bit over and would make a very fine combo. Alternatively, a used MFT camera like Panasonic Lumix G85 plus a used Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 pro or Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.7.

How "bad" the 12-60 f3.5-5.6 Panasonic kit lens actually is?

The 12-60 Panasonic is a great lens IMO, I have 2. It makes a great general purpose lens, relatively light, relatively sharp, good range (24-120mm FF equivalent). My favourite for a travel/walkabout lens. Would want a faster lens for indoor action though. Some have suggested the LUMIX 20mm F1.7, whi

The Holy Trinity is complete: Lumix G85, GX85 & LX100 ✨

Yeah the GX85 is surprisingly heavy in the hand, and the G85 almost feels lighter because of the better grip/ease of use. I really wish Panasonic brought out a new LX100, because I'd be on that in a flash and if it fixed the sluggish zoom I probably wouldn't need a mid sized body. Maybe in future if

Andrew Reid predicts Panasonic is soft-quitting the market for professional photographers and videographers

apart from that the s1 series are fully professional cameras that are selling well. If Amazon numbers are something to go on, it seems sales numbers are: Amazon ranking right now: 18 – Panasonic LUMIX S1RII 28 – Panasonic LUMIX S5II 30 – Panasonic LUMIX S9 31 – Panasonic LUMIX S5IIX 35 – Panasonic L
