(need advice) Osprey Farpoint 40 vs Kestrel 38
The Farpoint is a travel pack. It is absolutely the wrong type of backpack for the Camino. I strongly advise against using it. Go with the Kestrel or explore other backpacks made for camping while walking distances ie backpacking backpacks. Look at the Osprey Exos 38 or something else by Osprey or G

Is a Osprey Farpoint 40L + Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC suitable for 4 weeks in Japan/Indonesia?
Try getting your packing list for just the hike into your Sirrus now. Does it fit? If so, don't read the rest of this comment. 😂 I don't think you want a Farpoint 40. And, I don't think you want to take your Sirrus with you. I think you want a large hiking pack you can carry on. This is a bit tricky

I think I have had 10 bags so far and still not sure what the ideal size for travel is.
Visited Thailand for 4 weeks with Osprey Farpoint 40L. This was OK for cabin apart from internal flights. I was hit with last minute charge similar to flight cost for oversize. Just bought Osprey 26+6 for hot weather trips in future.

One Man’s Opinion-Far point 40
I agree! Used it on 1 trip and promptly returned it. I could not pack it properly to fit in regional jet overhead bins cuz it packs outward like a giant turtle shell. This tendency to act like a turtle shell had me falling over at the ferry port in Split and some random guy helped me up. I had previ

Any benefit to onebag in SEA if I exceed 7 kg?
Was worried I was underestimating how easy it'll be but yeah I was also thinking that everything that's somewhat heavy I can put in my pockets too. If I decide on going under 7 kg would you have a recommended backpack? I was thinking of bringing both a fairpoint 40l as well as a smaller 25l or so ba

Osprey Farpoint 40L VS Salkan 35L
I have an osprey farpoint and it’s been alright. As many others have said, the lack of side/outside pockets is annoying. The laptop sleeve doesn’t fit my laptop so it ends up being my document holder. I like the straps that are inside and outside because they keep everything secure and make it easy

Anyone found right-sized buckles to use on Farpoint 40L?
This post brings back PTSD for me and I now notice this subject continues to come up from time to time. Copied from one of my previous replies to a Farpoint side release buckle thread...... I searched very extensively for these specific side-release buckles going so far as searching resellers/wholes

40L osprey vs forclaz 40L, 1 month SA backpacking trip
I don't know about the Forclaz but the Farpoint 40 is relatively heavy for its capacity and the carry on weight limit for most budget flights around SE Asia is 7kg. For this reason I don't use it anymore for SE Asia. I'm currently using an Osprey Talon 36 which I happened to already have.

What size / specifications are the Osprey Farpoint buckle clips on the shoulder strap?
I bought both versions of the farpoint travel day pack : The newer version had plastic hooks…so I pulled up the older version and bought that… This older version had clips, but they don’t fkin clip into the Farpoint 40 because they are too small 😂😂 Tried my best to do it right but Osprey botched thi

Packing list for 3+ month travel in SEA
Your stuff in Osprey Farpoint 40 may be too big and/or heavy for cabin luggage on some budget flights within SEA. I got caught out last month on an internal Thai flight with a 10kg OF40. They did weigh it and also watch you put it in the sizing box.
