Is 40L with the intention to buy quite a bit of souvenirs enough for 3 months in Europe?
Surely you will be taking buses and trains in Europe ? Carrying 55l ( 40 + 15 ) up and down stairs and around city centres isn’t easy, you’d be wise to cut down. It’s not all about flights. As you plan to buy clothes as you go, you could easily take half that amount of clothing. If you plan to wash

Backpack for travel/carr on too
Check out Osprey farpoint/fairview 40L. It’s a travel backpack so it also has a clamshell opening that’s easy to get stuff in/out of like a suitcase. The backpack straps are actually really comfortable so you can walk with your pack fully loaded for longer distances, up stairs, etc. It’s very resili

Women who’ve backpacked long-term, what actually frustrates you about backpacks?
I’ve been travelling full time with a backpack only for over 2 years. I have a 40-litre Osprey Fairview pack. It opens like a clamshell so you can unzip it completely. I roll everything and basically have two layers of rolls down the middle, with my extra stuff along the sides. BUT! I don’t bring ha

Does anyone else pack cute clothes and then live in the most practical outfit the whole trip?
Seconding r/heronebag. I did 8 months across Europe and SEA with a 40L osprey Fairview with temps ranging from -20 C to 40 C. I’ll never go back to suitcase travel again.

What’s the best travel backpack you’ve actually used and loved?

Where do you buy authentic Osprey packs if local stores don’t have stock?
I bought an osprey fairview 55 through amazon. Just make sure you’re buying it from the official Osprey store. That’s probably you’re best bet.

Recomandare ghiozdan Osprey

Overwhelmed by options
I loooove my Osprey Fairview! The support and comfort is second to none. I just took mine on a 3wk European one-bag trip traveling by train. I never got tired carrying it, but was not hiking long distances with it. A couple of miles max. However, I had a few frustrations I’ll plan for next trip: 1.

Patagonia Micro MLC review
Oh nice! This changes things a bit. Is the pass through relatively narrow to stop the belt from sliding around?I've just had my Osprey Fairview 40 for the last 7 years so I've been looking to size down but there are so many more bags on the market since I last looked around. Thanks so much for this!
