Looking for lightweight hiking camera bag suggestions

What works best for me is a regular hiking pack with camera bag inserts. Hiking packs tend to be lighter and more comfortable than dedicated camera backpacks. Personally, I mostly use an Osprey Talon 44 or Exos 58 with BYOB inserts.

Osprey Exos 58 or Bergans Helium 55 v5

None at all. They work really well. When I was researching the bag I came across some posts of people complaining about the side compression straps being on the outside of the mesh water bottle pocket instead of the inside. When reading about people talking of this issue it made sense to me and was

Need a backpack

This is the best answer you’ll get. Don’t buy a backpack until you try on different bags. REI should put sandbags into the backpack for you to try. I’ve got an Osprey Exos 58 and my wife has the Eja 58 and we both LOVE them. I had an osprey aether that I didnt super care for but it was still nice po

My gear for 2 months hike, what am I missing?

I love my Osprey Exos 58. Got it on nice discount, for 150€. It combines lightweight and frame for comfort, enough pockets to separate some stuff and places to hang things outside of backpack and it can be very well adjusted as you can change size for your back and set height of your chest straps.

Shakedown Request: First Backpack for First Backpacking Trip

As far as pack, I’m really happy with my Osprey exos 58. I leave the brain at home. My girlfriend has the eja 58 and uses the brain. We both have been very happy with these packs. They are rated up to 35lb I think but I often ruck with it during the week at 35lbs. The other option would be a rei fla

Gear Check: Building a long-term kit for my 193cm (6'4") son.

6'4" dude reporting. Most of your stuff should work, although I have seen reports that X-Mid 1 can run a bit tight (hard to tell because they do not show a diagram with measurements of actual sleeping area in a way that you can tell where the pad fits in). Also, you specify "likely European terrain"

Sleeping pad & bag recs for beginner

EDIT: I misread the title and thought OP was asking about backpacks and not sleeping bags. I'll leave these rant of information up in case someone in the future finds it useful. The best bag is the one that fits you. If you have an REI near you(higly suggest becoming a member so you get a year long

Is a 55L worth it over a 40L for travel

My stock answer : Since this question comes up so often on different forums I've got a copy/paste response prepared that I keep in my Apple Notes ==== Many will suggest a smaller pack than a 60L however the weight difference in packs of the same manufacturer/model is usually negligible and not worth

Best pack to get my partner?

Another commenter recommended the talon and I think that’s a great choice. The 40 liter would be ideal as an overnighter or 72 hour bug out bag. Backpacking with a 40 liter can be done, sleep system, shelter, and kitchen if you’re very mindful about an ultralight kit or keeping it to essential suppl
