Test Pack for Weekend Trip in Osprey 26 + 6 Daylite

I found the 26+6 super uncomfortable but enough people here like it that I suppose I'm an outlier. FWIW, my hiking pack is an Osprey Talon 22 and my carryon pack is a Fairview 40 (both of which are fine). YMMV

26+6 but with better load carrying?

I feel like “the load capacity relative to size of an Osprey 26+6” and “comfortable load carrying for long walking distances” is one of those unicorn combinations I keep seeing people ask for on here but that unfortunately seems somewhat mutually exclusive. I would love to be proven wrong though, an

[Review] Patagonia Refugio 30L 2025 vs 2026 comparison (initial impressions)

Wow, the old version is my main and favorite travel bag, and this new version changes everything I love about it. I love having the big empty sack for a bag that I can place my own preferred cubes and bags into. I hate laptop pockets because I never use it so I love the removable one here. I also fi

Another Osprey 26+6 post

I recently bought the Osprey (edit: the Daylite, not the Transporter) 26+6 and Tomtoc T66 Liteway (28L) to compare as personal item bags. The Osprey is the only one I brought on trips — first a family car trip, then on a flight for a work trip.On the family trip I had no complaints. But on the work

Fully-packed Review and Comparison: REI Ruckpack 30L vs Cor Surf Island Hopper 28L

I agree, the REI seems to have better straps and more comfort. That Osprey looks solid. Honestly, I was really considering the Osprey Daylite 26+6 too, but I'm really not a fan of Osprey bags' appearance haha, it turns me away completely

Back again for more help.

I've been eying a Cabin Zero for a while for when I just travel with underseat luggage, but still didn't get one. I did order a Osprey 26+6 once but returned it because it was uncomfortable and very floppy when half empty. For my travel essentials I use a Eagle Creek Explore Sling Pack, because I li

Personal item sized bag that's actually comfortable

I loathe my Osprey 26+6. Tried the Fjallraven HighCoast Totepack (better) and think I have finally settled on the Fjallraven Kanken 15” Laptop No2 Black. More comfortable than the 26+6 or the Totepack. Holds more.

Bag Finder Megathread - 11 May 2026

I'm looking for a personal item sized bag (US, so18x14x8 inches) that can also double as a day hike backpack or daypack, i.e. can be worn for 6-8 hours without too much discomfort. Comfort is a lot more important to me than maximizing space, I just need to be able to fly on airlines like Frontier wi

Aer Travel Pack 3 (X-Pac) – 3+ years later, still my do-everything bag

I have not actually. I'm on another trip for 2 months with my Osprey 26+6 and it's working out ok. But, when I get home I think I will do some mods on the TP3 as I really like the overall feel when doing multiple mile days with it as the Osprey isn't the most comfortable.

Women who’ve backpacked long-term, what actually frustrates you about backpacks?

I just switched from using my osprey 26+6 to a roller carry on suitcase. Wearing a backpack all day in the heat or while walking distances sucked. The roller suitcase holds slightly more (maybe 35L?) and I don't have to lift it except to put it in the overhead bin or trunk of an Uber. I am loving it
