New backpacker (after 23 years) stuck: Atmos AG 65 vs. Kakwa 55?

If you like the comfort fit of the Osprey but would prefer to avoid the sweaty back problem with the ultralight packs consider the Exos 58. It comes in under 3 lbs and has a max load capacity of 40 lbs. So it's a nice middle ground between the Atmos and a sub 2 lb ultra light pack. I personally use

ultralight but with a cush backpack

Comfortable packs come in all weights and "features." For example, my GG Mariposa is much more comfortable than my Osprey Atmos was. You just need a pack that fits you well. And then, the lighter everything is, the more comfortable it will be.

New backpacker (after 23 years) stuck: Atmos AG 65 vs. Kakwa 55?

I have used Osprey packs in the past and currently use the Kakwa 55. My partner has an Eja. We just did a 6 day trip. My one complaint is that the only part of the bag that is wide enough for a BV500 is the roll top. Since my bear can is usually the heaviest part of my loadout it would be more ideal for it t

Light backpack options?

I have been using an Osprey Atmos 65 but it weighs nearly 5 lb. I just bought another Osprey, a 58 L one, that is their effort toward being much lighter. I think it weighs around 2-2.5 lb. It seems to have decent waist belt and shoulder strap padding even though it's in the 2 lb range at that size.

Backpacking bag for a bodybuilder with a wide chest

I have similar troubles as I am 6'3" 235 and usually need a 2XL shirt to fit my chest/arms correctly. My chest is more thick than wide (barrel shaped+ lifting) which makes this more challenging vs someone with a wider frame but similar chest circumference. A strap issue I have run into is that the s
