3D Printers for Beginners

honestly if you’ve already used an ender 3 at work, you’re past “beginner” lol. just grab something like a prusa mini or bambu a1 and call it a day, way less tinkering and more printing.

There is code for f***ing LASERS in the Prusa Firmware Buddy codebase

but after all - why not? A very small Prusa MINI Desktop-Milling-Machine for small PCBs would be quite nice. Don't tempt me and my Mini lmao You could probably do it, the biggest issues are finding a small enough spindle that fits on the gantry, and powering it. There may be too much flex in the sys

Show us your mods! We want to put YOU on stage at SMRRF!

The Prusa Mini+ was my first printer and it has worked reliably for five years now, so much so that I had to get another one. However I've had issues pushing it to speeds of the input slicer presets. In my opinion there's many great things about these printers and it deserves to live on, so I want t

Got a prusa mini+ for free. Now what?

Yeah, youtube a quick start guide on the mini. Download prusaslicer from their website. Also on the site is the Knowledge Base that tells you how to do every little thing with them. Luckily this printer is very easy to work on, mod, and works flawlessly when its dialed in. You'll also want to youtub

Im looking for a second smaller printer

Prusa mini is such a fun machine to modify. I've also got a mini that has been my Frankenstein, and it's such a reliable machine now.

Printer Recommendation Beginner

Prusa Mini+ It's very simple, very easy to repair, and prusa is the apple of 3D printers, except Prusa stayed open source and has a great sense of humor and phenomenal community culture. Bambu is pushed on Reddit a lot. I've worked with 3D printers for almost 20 years now since the first Makerbot ki

Any experience with CK3D Dual-Z mod for MINI+ (or the new big upgrade kit)?

I'm not familiar with those two mods above, but I did the BEAR-Conversion with the Silicon-bed-mod on the MINI+ and I never looked back. No more x-axis re-adjustments and now with DirectDrive instead of the bowden setup! (PETG!!!) :) (f.e.: https://www.printables.com/model/417710-prusa-mini-bear-fra

Is it wise to buy mini?

I just got my one for $100 Aud but haven’t had the time to test it out or tweak anything on it yet. Just updated the firmware and added it to Prusa connect. I did check the statistics tho and it only has 1 day of of hours on it which I think is pretty good! I’m planning on adding wifi and possibly d

What beginner friendly 3D-printer would be good to start with?

I think you need to answer a few questions for yourself, first: What is your budget? What size items do you want to print? How much do you care about vendor lock-in? Right now, for user friendly printers, your options are pretty much Bambu and Prusa, in that order. Bambu are cheaper than Prusa, and
