This is good info. I usually also press the filament quite hard until the gears take over. To clean the extruder gears, you don't need to disassemble it, there is a latch you can open which gives you access to the gear. Wouldn't use any of the stock hotends. There is a BMG version on thingiverse (practicly the same as sold by Bondtech). OTOH I've had Prusa Mini printer, which printed flawlessly despite Bowden extruder. My other cheaper/older machines were inferior even though they had direct drive. But agree, direct drive is better, but well made Bowden is okay too.
