OM was pretty clear the OM-3 was as close to the Pen-F as we're gonna get. They're focusing on the outdoor high end crowd nowadays, that's why all the goodies are in the OM-1 and why even the OM-3 uses the same EVF as the E-M5 mark III released in 2019. That's why they have no intention of continuin

The original E-M5 is still a great little travel camera. Newer models offer modest improvements to image quality, plus a lot of other quality of life features that may or may not be important to you. The E-M10 Mark IV will give you improved image quality and a faster shooting experience, but it lack

Hi, the E-M10III is still a great camera. I personally use an E-M10II for EDC and it's still a great little body. Now, if most of your photography is travel etc, I could probably see how you could benefit for an upgrade, especially when it comes to the new capabilities of the newer sensors and proce

I've just jumped into M43 to have the DSLR options I'm used to (with an APS-C DSLR) but in a more convenient size and weight. I initially ordered an E-M10 Mark IV but found it tiny and felt the construction was flimsy, particularly the port cover for the USB port and the door for the SD card and bat

So, Olympus and Panasonic are both part of the Micro-4/3 system, their bodies and lenses are interchangeable. (Panasonic has more recently branched out into full-frame L-mount cameras as well, those are not compatible.) It would probably make sense to get to a camera store or read some reviews on DP

OM System (formerly Olympus) is really good for macro. It's one of the few companies that make it a core part of their business model. A used Olympus "OM-D E-M1 Mark II" or "OM-D E-M10 Mark IV" Run about 400-550 and 60mm Macro lens is about 250-300. It terms of cameras that's actually dirt cheat but

Who is OM System Olympus trying to sell to? As someone still shopping for their first real camera, I’m struggling to see who their cameras would appeal to; there isn’t a value proposition as the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV isn’t any less expensive with its smaller m4/3 sensor than a Canon R100 with an APS-C

You mention weight. Is this a big consideration for you? DSLR are great cameras, however they are generally heavier and bulkier as well as all but discontinued now in favor of mirrorless. I shoot a mixture of Panasonic M43 as well as Panasonic and Sony Full Frame. For general walk around landscapes

Yes, Ebay sounds like a good place to shop for used gear. I've become an Olympus collector of sorts, so I'll keep an eye on it. Foam for around the doors of my OM1's and 2's is something I will be looking into as even if I'm not using all bodies on a regular, that dang foam just dissolves. The two c
