Upgrading from EM-5 mk II - How big is the difference between OM-5 and OM-3 really?
You are a birder - just get the OM-3 or OM-1, as it has subject detection autofocus and a faster sensor the autofocus performance of the OM5 isn't much better than the EM5 mk III. (Still better than the mk ii, but the OM1 and OM3 are a significant upgrade). Having owned the OM1 and EM5ii, I think th

Price of used OM-1 MK I 's are absurdly low / great bargain. Theories?
OM systems did absolutely shoot themselves in the foot by re-using old camera names that are still traded frequently in used spaces. This creates a lot of pointless confusion. Keep in mind that the OM-1, being a full-grip pro-body that appeals to more serious photographers who are expected to use he

Anyone else think the OM-5 II might be "sandbagging" a bit?
The processor may be the same generation (shared by the EM-1 iii, E-M5 iii, and OM -5) , but there are firmware upgrades that add features. That is also true when comparing the OM-5 with the OM-5 ii. And while the E-M1 iii has a lot of features that the OM-5 ii lacks, the OM-5 ii does have some extr

EM-5 iii ---> OM-5 ii = Worth the extra $365 USD it'll cost me?
The E-M5 III is based on the guts from an E-M1 II, IMX270 sensor/AF and truepic VIII processor. OM-5 II is based on the guts from an E-M1 III, IMX272 sensor/AF and truepic IX processor. As far as raw imaging performance goes, these are indistinguishable from each other for a standard shot that is in

Am I crazy to sell my Sony a7Sii and Canon L series 24-70mm II set up for M43?
Not bad in low light, the drop depends on camera age. I have owned em5, em5iii, g9, S5, g9ii. Sold the s5 and got a g100 while I get another full frame. Still not sure if to stay on L mount or if to shift to nikon. Both of them clip highlights if you are not careful. What you will see is worse shado

EM-5 iii ---> OM-5 ii = Worth the extra $365 USD it'll cost me?
Thank you all for your advice, input, and tips! I followed up with the seller and learned two key things: The OM-5 II was brand new (0 shutter count vs ~45k+ on my E-M5 III) A sealed OM 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II that wasn’t mentioned in the ad was also included I already own the Panasonic 14-140 II, so I’

Should I trade my gx85 for an e-m10 IV?
It's a sidestep, not an upgrade. Ok, it's a little bit of an upgrade. Evolutionary, not revolutionary. A little faster, a few more megapixels. The IBIS will be a little bit better. An OM-5 or EM5-III would be a bigger upgrade because you would get a better (much faster) autofocus capable of continuo

EM10 Mk3 - Upgrade to..?
Hi, the E-M10III is still a great camera. I personally use an E-M10II for EDC and it's still a great little body. Now, if most of your photography is travel etc, I could probably see how you could benefit for an upgrade, especially when it comes to the new capabilities of the newer sensors and proce

Beginner: How should I split my budget between camera body and lenses to be future-proof?
Okay, so first of all, it seems you are pretty set on M43 / Olympus / OM System cameras. The first thing that you need to understand is that those cameras work with processor generations, and that some generations are super close, while other provide a generational leap. For example : True Pic VIII

Took my OM-3 on my trip through Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bangkok. Paired with the 25mm f/1.8, it honestly felt like the perfect travel combo. Dropping my favorite shots from the trip.
What are you using to process your images? What sensor are you using? I can point you to my ISO 3200 images shot on my older EM5 iii and newer OM-5 which are clean as a whistle.
