OM-5 cheaper than E-M5III?
No idea why the price would be less given same condition/shutter count. But go for the OM-5. Might as well have a newer camera with newer processor and more features (Hand held high res, LiveND, starry sky AF, supposedly improved IBIS). The fact that OM released an om-5 mark ii without resolving the

Is there something better than Lumix GX85 in the similar price range and size?
You have conflicting priorities. In a lot of ways most phones are better than a GX85 for video - autofocus, formats, etc. GX85 has very outdated autofocus technology and video formats. I cannot describe it as “good”. I describe Panasonic G9 as “OK” and Panasonic G9II as “good”. Phones are on G9II le

New body
The om3 is BIG in comparison; get the OM-5 it’s the same camera as the em5III but has more computational features and the more recent OM branding. I got to hold one recently but ended up sending it back and keeping my gx9 which I would recommend as a newer alternative to the gx85 but it’s also disco

My First impression of the Pen F as a GX85 user.
This is sadly very true. From what I can see, all their current tech was done under Olympus (the OM-1, which should have been the E-M1 mark IV was already almost finalized when Olympus sold their camera division to JIP... they didn't even bother redoing the molds to remove the Olympus logo on it). It's M43 Monday! Ask Us Anything about Micro Four-Thirds Photography - all questions welcome!
Don’t hold your breath for small cameras. OM and Panasonic have abandoned that segment for years. G100 is a neutered camera. Used EM5III or OM5 is what you want. They are basically the same camera. OM5II is poor value in 2025 - it is the same 6 year old camera getting its third re-release without an

PetaPixel and Emily from Micro Four Nerds on how to save Micro Four Thirds - the manufacturers only make large premium cameras and are afraid to make a small one that isn't plastic and chintzy
What's interesting to me is that the OG e-m5 at launch brought brand new things to the line up. Brand new 16mp sensor, new 5-axis IBIS system, new processor, faster bursts. The e-m1 actually came a bit after the e-m5, but they were not afraid to bring brand new capabilities to the smaller body. Even

OM Systems welcomes new Chinese M43 brand: Songdian
Ok, then let's say OM System is relying on the after-market for some accessories. :-) In my opinion, the cost to develop, build, and warehouse low volume accessories could easily exceed any retail profit. Yes, Olympus had a hand grip for the E-M5 Mk III (and OM-5 Mk I) but how many have you seen peo

OM-5 mkii Rumored Specs
No OM-5 is closer to the e-M10 iii as it has Trupic IX. E-M5 iii is TruePic Viii and closer to EM1 ii in output/features. But better color profile than the E-M1iii and E-Mi X that share the same processor. Hopefully some AF improvements will be in the Mark ii. Even my Fujifilm X-T1 AF is better than

Compact recommandations
I like the internals of the OM3. I don’t like the design. It is too large, it doesn’t have a grip and the style dial is in the worst location possible. I went to the shop to buy one myself and came home with an A7CII instead. When you can get a smaller full frame camera, MFT really starts to lose it
