New body

The om3 is BIG in comparison; get the OM-5 it’s the same camera as the em5III but has more computational features and the more recent OM branding. I got to hold one recently but ended up sending it back and keeping my gx9 which I would recommend as a newer alternative to the gx85 but it’s also disco

So I got my OM5ii. What I gonna use as a Flash?

Let’s do a little history lesson…. Truepic VIII cameras - EM1ii and EM5iii. Essentially the same tech shrunk into a smaller lighter package. Inextricably, Olympus removes the USB-C of the early camera for Micro USB. Truepic IX cameras - EM1iii and OM-5. Same deal, same nonsensically Micro USB. Oh an

OM Outlet Pricing

I find the 5 series bodies to be too small to comfortably use with any zoom larger than the 12-100 and even that lens is way off balance when on my OM-5. Olympus made a hand grip for the E-M1 Mk III (fits the OM-5 Mk I) for just that reason, but then you are pretty close in size to the OM-1. Further

Beginner: OM-5 I/II, GX9 or Fuji?

Upgrading from EM-5 mk II - How big is the difference between OM-5 and OM-3 really?

IMO, the OM-3 is clunkier than the OM-1 due to lack of ergonomics. You'll find you have to set it down, put it away, or use 2 hands to use it far more than an OM-1, which can be easily carried hanging from the tips of your fingers in 1 hand and easily operated 1 handed with lenses up to around 600g.

OM Systems welcomes new Chinese M43 brand: Songdian

Ok, then let's say OM System is relying on the after-market for some accessories. :-) In my opinion, the cost to develop, build, and warehouse low volume accessories could easily exceed any retail profit. Yes, Olympus had a hand grip for the E-M5 Mk III (and OM-5 Mk I) but how many have you seen peo

Mountain touring camera

How will you carry it? For hiking i use a peak design capture clip to hang my e-m1 mark ii with 12-40 f2.8 pro on a rucksack strap. It's not heavy but i can't feel the weight at all when it's there, and for light rain i don't even bother putting it away due to the weather sealing. It's out of the wa

First leaked image of the new OM-5II

I find M43 great and overall the perfect system for my needs. I own a E-M1 Mark III which I love shooting with in general, and a GX80 which is very useful for travelling with bag restrictions or just carrying in my bag daily even if it isn't "as good". Ideally, I'd like to have a single body that sa

How did you get into m43 system? What's your future plans with it?

I started using MFT over a decade ago because it had the most advanced small cameras by a long shot. Olympus and Panasonic were unstoppable. I stopped using MFT as my main camera about a year ago because OM and Panasonic stopped making good small cameras about 6 years ago (EM5III), I got tired of wa

Compact recommandations

I like the internals of the OM3. I don’t like the design. It is too large, it doesn’t have a grip and the style dial is in the worst location possible. I went to the shop to buy one myself and came home with an A7CII instead. When you can get a smaller full frame camera, MFT really starts to lose it
