Quiet keyboard recommendations

The only RK keyboard I would recommend is the wired RK61 and only with custom firmware. The stock firmware has awful layout. No keyboard comes with really good silent switches. You will need to swap them out anyway. For a wireless board, either the Nuphy Air60 v2 (the previous generation) with Gater

Mechanical keyboard advice

It looks like it uses Gateron KS-33 switches. These just showed up on my searches recently and I got the browns for my Nuphy Air60. They're not as poppy as the original Wisteria switches but they're much quieter, available in tactile (brown) and linear (red, white, black): https://www.amazon.com/GAT

Keyboard Recommendations for Mac?

One thing you need to consider on the Mac is the keyboard support software, what's commonly called a "driver" though it's not normally a driver in the ordinary sense, it's a management and configuration tool. Anyway, only two companies consistently support Apple in their driver software, that's Skyl

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - August 22, 2025

Are there any split, low profile, hall effect/tmr keyboards out there or in the works? The closest I've seen are the sunder keyboards project but I really would prefer it to be low profile like the Nuphy air60 HE

Silent tactile switches. You don't need O-rings or padding. I have a Nuphy Air60 v2 with Gateron Silent Brown and it's basically silent apart from a little noise from the stabilizers.

yunzii rt75 pro compatibility

i ran into this same question last month actually. the yunzii rt75 pro uses magnetic hall effect switches, so gateron jade pros won't work since they're mechanical. you'd need switches like the gateron magnetic jade switches instead. if you're set on hall effect, the nuphy air60 he or keychron k2 he

60/65% mechanical keyboard for traveling?

i was in this exact spot last year when my laptop gave out. the nuphy air60 v2 is solid for the weight - comes in right around 450g. if you want to keep that low profile feel but want something a bit different, the Keychron K3 Pro is another one worth looking at. hits right around your budget and ha

is Logitech G515 TKL Rapid Trigger good for $120?

i actually tried both routes for the same reason last year. the G515 is decent but the software is kinda meh and the rapid trigger implementation isn't as good as Wooting 60HE which is still king for CS. for coding the low profile is nice though. if you want both maybe look at Nuphy Air60 HE it's lo

Trying to help a buddy track down his old gaming keyboard

tracking down something that old is always a scavenger hunt. have you checked ebay saved searches and set up alerts? also worth posting in r/mechmarket with a buying post - sometimes collectors have rare stuff tucked away. if you can't find the original, there are some modern low-profile acrylic boa

Keyboard gift for cyber security

I don't think there is anything as low profile as that, mechanical keyboard switches are not like Apple's membrane/scissor switch and any other conventional membrane would probably be a downgrade. I have the Nuphy Air60 v2, and it's a decent option. The new Chosfox board looks nice. https://chosfox.
