quick change adjustables rep peppins seem to be the best, but its a cage design so you may not like that. nuobells are good too but they break easily if you drop them if you want a traditional dumbbell feel and something that is indestructible then Ironmaster, its just slower to change the weights b

Gonna take this moment to say, Gluck is a great person to watch in general, but specifically adjustable dumbbells he does drop tests. The Nuobells fail on their first tests.

If space and budget arent an issue go with fixed. At the end of the day, the best adjustables are all trying to mimic the durability and feel of fixed dumbbells. However, if you want to save space/monies go with adjustables. Powerblocks/reppins are very durable/reliable. The ones that mimic dumbbell

I have the mx evos and I was in a similar analysis paralysis. What decided it for me ultimately is the durability. I saw way too many examples of the inner pieces of the Nuobells breaking. If I’m spending that much money, I want them to last a long time.

I've had the nuobells and sold them to use their proceeds to get the Reppins. As you mentioned there are trade offs for any item, but the driving force for my switch was durability- the knowledge of knowing I can safely bail out of a lift and not be SoL by breaking plastic components was a relief. It kinda depends how heavy you are going. If you only need 50lbs, any on fb market is fine. Even the bowflex ones if you can get it for cheap. If you’re going up to 80lbs I probably recommend snode, mx or trulaps. I have the nuobells which are FANTASTIC but I only love them bc I got it for really ch
