What is your honest opinion of the Wii U Gamepad? How would you rate it as a controller, and as a "gimmick"?

I very, very much wish that they would make nintendo switch 2 joycons that had this setup. I like my joysticks to be parallel to each other, on top. Its far more comfortable to me.
