Is going from a Z7 to a D850 a downgrade, an upgrade, or a side grade?

I'm a professional and owned both. The image quality is near identical... They produce incredibly similar files. The D850 is a much more agile, and responsive camera though. It has way better AF and a faster drive. That comes with a huge weight penalty though. The Z7 is probably in the discussion fo

I bought Sony a7iv and kind of regretting it

I had much the same experience with the A7iv, I'm happier with my Z5ii and the output from it even though the A7iv was thoroughly competent. The resolution has nothing to do with it, it's all in the lens design (which is pretty wildly different between some of the lenses in the system) and the colou

DSLR or Mirrorless?

I was a very long holdout, switching to mirrorless late because I can't stand low-quality EVFs, or EVFs that cannot show you a live preview of the scene while shooting continuously. When the Z9 came out I made the leap and never looked back. Even after all this time the Z8/Z9 are still the only bodi

Bird photographer looking for a new camera

The N50ii has AI-based automatic bird detection autofocus. No Nikon DSLR has this. The N50ii will outperform any DX DSLR. And there is no futzing around with where to place the AF sensor. The camera sees the picture and things "bird" and handles it for you. The newer FX Z-mount bodies have not only

Is the Nikon z8 really that good?

they are different tools, the z8 can shoot much faster, has some specific wildlife modes in its af and the faster sensor allows for better video. so for wildlife the z8 is better since that is what its designed for, the telephoto lenses on z mount is also a bonus. on the other hand the a7rV has a hi

So Long to the Z7 Platform?

The thing that has always seemed logical to me is keep updated the Z8, Z9 platform as-is and then make the Z7 platform the slower shooting, ultra high resolution camera. Get a 60-80 MP Nikon that shoots 6-8 fps instead of the 20+ fps of Z8/Z9.

I see Nikon Z but there are different models? Which Model? I am trained on SLR and DSLR. Would be for portraiture, family and wedding.

Nice. I have a Z5 II and it's great, it's more camera than I will ever truly need, fantastic value, and I do like the slightly nicer full-frame look, although I am sure I would be very happy with a Z50 II, and I must admit sometimes the size and especially weight of the full-frame system can be a lo

So Long to the Z7 Platform?

Except that the A7R does have a high speed readout sensor, more than twice as fast as the Z7/Z7II has despite having more pixels. That being said, despite the additional pixels it's not resolving much (in some cases, any) more detail or DR than the Z7 does, and Nikon has rarely been about spec chasi

Q3 43 vs Fuji X100VI

It depends what you’re used to. My previous cameras have been mainly Nikon - D70, D2x, D3, D3x, D800, then Z7 and Z8. Next to these the Fujifilm X100 series are slow and flimsy with very iffy focussing (although the vi is a big improvement over the T) And obviously the first thing I did was go throu

Pillow talk - what brand are y'all actually using?

Nikon z50ll. In 2-3 years, hopefully a Z7 III used (Or Z9 brand new of I join onlyfans and succeed LOL). Idk, I just like the samples from YouTubers and some redditors (This is a matter of taste, not saying anythings's better than the other LOL) so I bought one myself and it's been a blast so far!
