Z5II or Z7II
It strongly depends on your autofocus needs. Since you didn't mention stuff like wildlife, sports, racing or other fast paced situations, the Z7II will probably be better due to the higher MP count. If you think about starting some wildlife or sports, get the Z5II. It has the newer processor, so the

Made the leap to Z today
16-year gap between my F and Z body. I've been holding off on moving to Z because too much of the value in my eyes is in video. I could get a Z6III for the E7 processor, but the majority of the money spent will be on video specs I'll never touch. While the Z bodies made with photo shooting in mind,

Is the Z7ii worth it for travel?
Yes absolutely. I upgraded from a d750 to a z7ii about two years ago and it’s been awesome. It is so much lighter and more compact. It’s a great travel/street setup with the 40 f2, 50 f1.8, or 24-70 f4 on it. We’re all well aware the z6iii or z8 focus faster, but out in the real world walking around

Switching to Nikon, pitfalls
Z8 has slightly worse dynamic range than a D850. This will be noticable in how much you can pull from shadows in post processing. You can compensate for it by avoiding ISO 100-500, by exposure bracketing or by overexposing images. In most circumstances, you won’t notice it at all. Z7ii does better i

Please Nikon make a Z7 III
The Z7 or Z7ii are still a leading class landscape camera. If landscapes are your thing, pick up a used Z7 on Marketplace for cheap. The only disadvantage to the original Z7 has to do with its slower AF and tracking algorithms. You don't need lightning quick AF for landscapes. That being said, how o

Sony to Nikon?
Hey Mate, I've been a NIkon shooter for a long time and currently use a D4; dual D850s, still have a D750 and just bought a Z6iii. Lemme tell you a story about that So I made a massive mistake with a former partner I was working with and moved from Nikon to Sony with dual A&r4s, 8 lenses and a sony

Purchasing a Z8, what do you wish you knew or had when you got yours?
That even though the AF is incredible, there is a learning curve with mirror less AF. I came up through the Z6 then Z7ii that made the learning curve steeper but there are still some aspects to it that are distinctly different than your DSLR. Don't shoot 20fps unless you really have to, it is a lot

Getting a new camera after being robbed. Need your advice.
The Z6II and Z7II have an Expeed 6 processor. The ZF, Z5II and Z6III have an Expeed 7. Expeed 7’s have a much-improved autofocus performance, specially for 3D tracking. They can also shoot raw video internally. Z7II is only worth it if you need the higher resolution (for landscape, for example) and

Choosing between Z 7ii or Z 6iii
Amateur here... I own both bodies so here's my $0.02: for portraits and landscape you don't need to crop much. 45 MP really shines in wildlife photography where you often just can't get enough reach and cropping is your only option. A big difference between the two is that the AF in the Z6iii blows

Is the Z5ii really that good, or is it just all hype?
I bought one a few months ago. Very impressed with it. The low-light capability blows away my D850. I took shots of hummingbirds at 10k-40k ISO and with the denoising in Lightroom, they look like butter-no grain, clean. The AF is much better than the Z7ii I used to have (sold it and bought the D850)
